Pikachu speed upgrade (also unlikely)

This is the first episode. During the Spearow scene. When lighting strikes the ground, in that flash, Pikachu runs from where it was to Ash's shoulder, jumps from there, and uses Thunder(?) on all of the Spearows. Again, this happens in the flash that happens when lightning strikes the ground.

If its not FTL, then it be really high end MHS+ (assuming all this happened in a flash of lightning), so yeah I'm having to lean towards it being an outlier myself.

I think it's an outlier or PIS considering Ash also reacted to this and since this is not a feat we see normally.

Was about to say that, but you beat me to it. Disagree with the upgrade for this reason.

Wait, it makes sense mathematically? In that case, assuming it's not FTL, I don't really see it as an outlier, especially considering we already have Pikachu as the fastest Pokémon that's not from gen III and IV, and we have Ash reacting to Pikachu being MHS. However, if it is FTL, then yeah. Outlier. Also, isn't this Pikachu's defining scene? Saying this is outlier would be like saying Friza destroying Vegeta is an outlier. At least according to something I read FoRPG write on his blog.

@Cal your constant comparisons with Dragonball on every possible upgrade thread you make, when a person disagrees with your stance, is getting kinda annoying. Regardless it's established that Frieza is a planet buster by constant reminders throughout the series, while this might actually be the only FTL feat (TBD) that Pikachu has in the entire Pokemon Franchise.

Defining scene =/= not immune to outliers Hmmm, if it is on FoRPGs blog, then it's just a bad arguement on his part. Also mathically making sense =/= not immune to outliers

Well @FTW considering how DB has gone through every arguement in the book, it would seem that the comparison is more to make the debate simple, heck, I do it all the time.

Its an outlier because faster Pokemon have significantly lesser showings and hes never done anything else any where near this speed without powerscaling(again even powerscalig its still like in the 1000s of difference).

Also why are we considering Pikachu as the fastest gen 1 Pokemon?

Not my words. It's Fan's. Not to mention that DB is the thing that everybody knows. If I decide to make a reference to Percy Jackson, or Underdog, I doubt 10% of the normal users will understand it. I don't know enough of the rest of the HST (the only thing that's remotely as popular) to make comparisons to that.

Doesn't seem FTL to me. Pikachu just moved in the timeframe of the flash. Even normal humans can percieve a flash. Not saying this is human level, but this isn't FTL either. I'll check for the timeframe of a lighting flash.

Eh, don't think that this is a FTL feat, nor even close; lightning flashes/scene just have a duration of around 200 ms, humans can perceive them.

You're gonna have to be more specific, bud.

Also, as I put in the title, this is unlikely. I don't mind if this upgrade doesn't go anywhere.
