Overlord General Discussion Mk. VII

i just noticed something

why is Albedo's dura "At least City level"?

there is a lot of room in 7-B from where they scale, so i'm not sure "At least" fits

either that or people who should be able to beat her, like Cocytus, Shalltear, and probably Ainz would get At least City level AP

I'll go ahead and change Ainz's "At least City level" AP with Perfect Warrior as well to flat City level

Probably Gagaran

when you have nothing better to do, so you compile all the evidence that Ainz uses Time Stop for future use

because for some reason, that's still a thing that's being argued

Not a-lot of evidence if you meant what he'd use first. If it's 'he'll use' then arguing against that just sounds like garbled gibberish from an anime only.

Nice, Neia thanks you for your contribution to justice. I'll probablyr reread the series just before volume release and look out for this part.

Also use these;

{{Quote| Insert quotes close with curly brackets --->

and use ---- to separete paragraphs or use headers.

idk bout you, but the evidence I found points to it being likely he'd start off with it, especially with the Gazef part

the last quote, where he's fighting another Overlord, also implies he'd open up with it in order to test his opponent's resistances

And boom someone hits with the "[Grasp Heart]" being his favourite combo that he's used more than timestop. The Gazef situation would a what if he faced a player situation but then again those were under 'sportsmanship' PVP rules unlike him actually checking for resistences against someone susceptible to [Grasp Heart] (Vol1) rather than use other spells (Cure Elim & Undead bro that got one shotted)

Imo him using it first depends on the opponent and the circumstances. I'll be against 100% he'll use it first in vsbattles

Who here remembers 6-C Ainz?

I member.

Also, following. Finally.

6-C was still downplay, he should clearly be 1-A for being able to call upon Shub-Niggurath ovo

I seem to remember posting author blog post about it (will find later). Him using death hax and time-stop are 100% guaranteed, but him starting with time-stop is not. Also night, night.

I don't see a reason for him not to use it first. Seeing if his opponent has such a vital resistance at the start completely changes how Ainz would approach the battle

After all, if his opponent doesn't resist Time Stop, why would he not abuse it to test their other resistances?

Seeing if his opponent has death hax resistance would be more important, something he should be able to tell at a glance without casting it. Oh right found the comment:

Muchacho mrm said:
It is in character for him to use instant death or time-stop, it is just the circumstances and who or what he's facing that matter. If he were facing an opponent he judges to be on equal footing he would absolutely use it. Against Gazef, as soon as he made it PVP Ainz didn't hold back and left a 'git good noob' note on him. Against an undead he judged to be on equal footing to himself, he used [Reality Slash] while also thinking of using [Time Stop] but could not due to the circumstance. Against a dragon he saw as a threat he had used [Time Stop].
And the author had stated this:

[Having time-stop and instant death counter measures are absolutely required to face Ainz.

Only then can one feel they are standing on an equal footing. Shalltear is a good example.] - Author thoughts volume 9

So it's actually up there when it comes to what he'll use out of his 718 spells.

which he can find out while also using Time Stop....

but whatever, it's clear you aren't going to agree no matter what i say, so i'll stop

as long as you don't believe he'll never use it, you're good in my book

And then, the other question was―

"I understand that you're loyal to the Sorcerer King. But why are you here? Is it because of your chains?"

"...It's not like that."

The maid demon began to exert her strength, and the thick chains emitted a distasteful creaking sound.

"Stop that!" As Remedios shouted in time with a wave of killing intent, the sound stopped.

"...Even I could break ordinary unenchanted chains."

"Then why? Why haven't you left this place and gone to His Majesty's side?"

I believe this was brought up before, but the Pleiades should get a higher Lifting Strength from this

this was CZ btw, so all the Pleiades should scale

no idea what this would be though, not familiar in the slightest with lifting strength

with her gun, she has insane attack, but there is nothing that would ever suggest her unarmed strength is the same way at all, let alone her lifting strength scaling

also, the fact she says "Even I could break ordinary unechanted chains" makes me think it would be super simple

10 - Shizu
Here's CZ's character sheet. Compare it to the other maids, and you'll find that she actually has the highest physical attack out of all of them.

I don't see why it wouldn't. What else does "physical attack" mean? The maid who comes closest to her level of physical attack is Yuri Alpha, and she attacks by punching.

I know that, but how does that matter in this discussion? If lifting strength isn't tied to the Physical Attack parameter, what is it tied to? I'm disappointed to have to dismiss a new AP feat, but honestly I don't see why it should scale to anyone else except maybe Yuri.

Physical attack power, at least IRL, is derived from speed and strength. Plus, if lifting strength isn't dictated by Physical Attack, then what other stat is it linked to?

the character sheets also aren't super hard fact

we have no idea how it's measured or influenced by different racial characteristics

so while CZ probably does have the highest physical attack stat, we have no idea by how much

also Narberal, a magic caster who I assume would have the lowest physical strength, blocked a Skeletal Dragon's stomp, overpowered it with her strength, and caused it to stumble back a couple steps

this isn't her hitting it, it's her using her lifting strength to overpower and shove off a 3 meter tall dragon made of bones

i have an impression that would at least be close to breaking some metal chains

Yeah, I had the impression that CZ's chain feat is extremely casual. However, we might be able to calc Narberal's dragon feat, since Skeletal Dragons are really made of human bones.

idk, iirc there wasn't any good shots of their entire body in order to do any meaning things with in regards to pixel scaling

and the shots that were anywhere close to the full body, was ruined by a weird/dramatic perspective
