One Piece General Discussion: Elbaph

Hypocrite, he was the same one who was forcing it on the community last time

You got some people from twitter harassing Yamoto's VA for being a woman (how low can people sink....), perhaps this can be considered as Sexism as well? but then again, Twitter people apparently have already forgotten that Luffy and Goku are voiced by a woman. I smell sweet hypocrisy.

Those types of people aren't just hypocrites at that point, they're pathetic scum.

I liked it.

It seems like Whitebeard was more ill than I thought. He was dying from disease and stabbed by a sword, and still managed to defeat Akainu in two hits. He was a really tough and great old man.

He also had numerous other stab and gunshot wounds, in addition to having half of his head vaporized.

At the time, i.e. before the latest Vivre Cards came out, this was a reasonable position to hold IMO
Reasonable does not mean unbiased, which he said he was (said he had an unbiased perspective) and he clearly was heavily biased towards one side.

Quick question about Zoro cutting the onigashima horn feat.
Why do we use Potential energy instead of kinetic for it? Are we just being safe and waiting for the anime to give us a timeframe or what?

The description for King's attack Andon is pretty much copy-pasted from the One Piece wiki:
  • Andon (炎皇 Andon, literally meaning "Flame Emperor"): King conjures a fireball over his open palm, then forms a fist to execute a powerful, flame-clad punch. The attack was first seen when King tried to strike a then-disabled Roronoa Zoro, but it was blocked by Marco. The attack's name comes from andon (行灯), a type of traditional Japanese lantern consisting of an oil lamp housed in a paper-covered, wooden stand. The Viz manga calls the technique Imperial Flame.
Anyone mind if this is simply altered to:
  • Imperial Flame (炎皇 Andon, literally meaning "Flame Emperor"): King creates a fireball over his open palm, then forms a fist to throw a powerful, flame-clad punch straight at his opponent.

Go ahead.

I don’t feel like creating a post since its a small addition and maybe even irrelevant to the website.

With Law’s powers, Drugs and diseases can be entirely removed from organic tissue of other people. I don’t see it under biological manipulation and his profile makes it seem like his powers can only grant disease resistance to himself.

That seems fine to me.

Anyway, regardless what we may think about the news article source, it seems like the live action One Piece series is about to get extremely distorted and political/be given the typical Hollywood adaption treatment:

Please keep any comments about this within the lines of our rules of conduct though.

That makes sense. I hope that the showrunner will try to be faithful and impartial, but I have really bad experiences with modern Hollywood adaptions in general.
