I can't find SBS 54's quote on humans living that long, but every source addressing it calls it the "average" lifespan. Even if it is the limit for the norm, basically almost every pirate that goes beyond human limits lives beyond it. And Katakuri sure as hell isn't "normal".

WB and Roger are exceptions because both were sick at one point or another. Garp, Sengoku and Rayleigh chose to do little and got rust on'em, but from the looks of it even at 140 a Superhuman can function just fine, going by how.... Energetic Kureha is.
I'd say claiming Katakuri is "too old to get stronger" is blatantly wrong when Oda basically says otherwise for characters far less ridiculous than he is.
