Like I'm not saying that Kizaru did any major damage to Luffy but don't lie and say that either of them did vastly more damage to each other with individual attacks than the other, especially when it's a literal point made that Kizaru was more mentally injured than physically by far. I mean the dude literally got up right after the White Star Gun to do a Uber Eats run for Luffy just to go back on the ground to act injured again for Saturn.

Kizaru after a long situation when things are getting really dire, kizaru sleathly easily gives Luffy food and sits back down... If he acted hurt he would've be laying on the ground still

I still think Luffy is above Kizaru and I honestly just don't care about the food thing because it was shown he could restart his heart in Wano and it should have been no different in Egghead, it logistically makes the most sense if he only couldn't do it there for plot reasons, so in a real fight that wouldn't matter.

Probably to preserve Kizaru's reputation, didn't want him to really go down in this arc or get embarrassed/overwhelmed by anyone, but also didn't really want the same for Luffy, so he made it so both could be excused.
Kizaru being mentally nerfed and Luffy not using Advanced Haki.
If Luffy used Advanced Haki on a mentally nerfed Kizaru, he'd have easily won.
And if Kizaru went all out on Luffy while he wasn't using Advanced Haki, then Kizaru would have easily won.
And if both went all out, well there's no exact telling who'd win, though my money's on Luffy.
In any case, there'd be a clear victor in all three of those outcomes, and that doesn't seem to be what Oda wanted. It seems like he wanted to make Kizaru an ally of sorts, or at least somewhat of a good guy, so him losing probably wasn't ideal at that point, especially since he was also trying to establish the Gorosei as a threat there and build up Saturn's death.
