I remember it was stated by Jinbe at the start of the timeskip that the Navy is stronger now under Akainu's leadership.

They don't, Zoro and Sanji scale to Queen and King, who just got easily beaten by an Admiral.

Luffy’s Marine opponent will be Akainu, who’s not an Admiral anymore, he’s the Fleet Admiral and head of the Marines, Fleet Admiral Sengoku went toe to toe with Roger in his Prime, the same Roger who alongside Garp defeated the Rocks Pirates, the narrative for Fleet Admirals>Emperors is there

Yeah, but if we're talking about "Are the Admirals stronger than the Yonkou" back when the Yonkou consisted of Whitebeard, Big Mom, Kaido and Shanks, that's different to asking "Are the Admirals stronger than the Yonkou" when the Yonkou now consist of Shanks, Blackbeard, Luffy and Buggy.

Been thinking that as well: their introductions were also sorta similar, both like sake/alcohol and both have powers related to absorption (Plant suck/Enma suck)

Maybe this was fine before, but now i start to question Marco's strength, like we accepted that he its equal an Admiral in strength and yet he was struggling against King and Queen while Greenbull stomped them.

i think zoro+sanji both have solid evidence for fighting either greenbull or kizaru, i mean they both have pretty good connections
plus it doesnt reall y matter either since both kizaru and greenbull seem to be around the same level imo, so no matter who fights who imma bust a nut
