Of Leaders and Lightning - Kessler vs A (Fourth Raikage)

Okay, I gotta say that this seems like a mismatch.

Base A is stomped due to the fact that he's completely outclassed in range and versitlity while he's the better fighter up close, Kessler is still in his weight class and has better recovery/stamina. Not too mention that as you gave Kessler power (which he really doesn't need) he can boost his healing abilities even further to recover from any damage.

A's Lighting Armor is the basis to his entire fighting style, so depriving him of it really hampers him. However, if you give it to him he'll more than likely take out Kessler due to sheer power and the fact that it gives him high resistance to electric attacks, thus depriving Kessler of any real way to hurt him.

To be fair, Kessler doesn't really have an endurance advantage here. As seen in his fight with Cole, Kessler's old age has took a toll on his stamina, and if he expends too much energy, he'll collapse to his knees for a few seconds, leaving him extremely vulnerable. Also, as seen in his battle with Cole, his condition will only worsen as the battle goes on, since he was unable to overpower Cole at the end of his fight, even though he had done so at the beginning of their fight.

A can chop off his own arm and still keep fighting with little to no discomfort, and fought for an extended period of time in the Ninja War witn little signs of tiring.

So this is a race for Kessler, can he take down A before his body gives out? Or will A outlast Kessler and strike him down when he can't fight anymore.

Kessler might tire out at times but that's only after he uses multiple powerful attacks. Also, Cole had the advantage of being able to attack from a distance, meaning all he had to do was weave and dodge until Kessler became tired and then he had an opening to unload on him. Kessler never drained any additional energy to heal himself during that fight. Also, the weakest he got during the fight was going from being able to fire 4 lightning bolts before he tired, to firing 3.

A is limited to melee range and thus has to worry about closing the distance between Kessler and himself. This also bites A in the butt because this means that he's got no effective way of dealing with Kessler's phantasms that doesn't involve just avoiding them but that means that Kessler has the advantage of being able to freely move about while A has to constantly watch where he's at and Kessler has an effective wall that A is forced to go around. That gets even more complicated when you throw in Kessler making grenade drones that will attack from above and Kessler's own grenades he can use to bar A's way.

Also, when A chopped off his arm, he got immediate treatment for it with little blood loss but I will say that his stamina is high.

In addition, should A get close, Kessler could blast him back with a shockwave or even just straight electrocute him with physical contact. Also, speed is not equalized, so Kessler has faster reactions than A (MHS+ vs MHS). Kessler could unload on A before A even got a chance to hit.

All of this is on top of the fact that Kessler can heal his own wounds by draining additional power from the enviroment around him while A has not access to such a recovery method. So even if A should wound Kessler, Kessler can not only take that damage he can heal from it.

A is basically fighting an opponent that can hit him at close, mid and long range, can control the enviroment by introducing hazards into it, can recover from the damage he recieves and is fast enough to react to anything A does and then counter if not.

TBH, I don't think so. While that would allow A to react to Kessler, it also means that Kessler's flash step can keep away him away from A just as much as A can chase him. Futhermore, it means that Kessler can effectively intercept A should A be caught inbetween multiple things (grenade drones, phantasms and/or lightning bombs).

While A could play keep away himself, he has to get in close to attack while Kessler doesn't. Even with speed equalized, Kessler is still holding most of the cards, just he can now properly close distances with A with his own speed.

This best bet is to make this speed equalized (so A can react to Kessler) and remove electricity from the envirmonent. Kessler naturally generates his own electricity anyway but that will prevent him from healing.

Thus the two can have a more even fight and Kessler has less room to make mistakes and A can actually rack up damage on him.

Edit: Actually disregard that about that making this more even. Kessler can still shock A with his electricity should A engage him close up (he has to) and Kessler could disable him by forcing visions of his horrendous future into A's head, disorienting him and allowing Kessler time surround him with grenades or phantasms.

Don't forget that Kessler's lightning beam, his strongest attack, has a charge-up time, leaving him vulnerable to be intercepted mid-charge.

Kessler's phantasms are EXTREMELY slow, meaning they shouldn't be that hard to dodge.

His grenades are stationary, meaning that if A keeps his distance, he's fine.

His shockwave attack, while tough to dodge, can be still be avoided if timed right.

Ground pounds even easier to dodge

His drones should be pretty easy for a person of A's skill to take care of, the grenades are launched pretty slow, and the drones can only take a few hits before being destroyed.

And when A sees that Kessler can heal via absorbing electricity, he's gonna do all that he can to keep Kessler from getting near any sources of electricity.

So, if I equalize speed, A should be able to keep up with Kessler, and with him keeping up the pressure and keeping him away from/destroying his sources of electricity, A should have a better shot of winning.

i think kessler could win for 3 reasons. 1 if Kessler could escape with phantasms to confuse A then drain some electricity to heal then go back. 2 if speed is equalized then Kessler still has flash step to re-open the distance. 3 Kessler can time travel back in time research A then kill him while he is either vulnerable or not yet born.
