Hello. As probably anyone on this site knows, our wiki would be completely unable to remotely function the way it does without the help of our Calculation Group. Their hard work in calculating and quantifying feats is an absolute necessity in regards to our goal of indexing characters' statistics. The vast majority of our thousands and thousands of pages would be utterly unreliable if not for them either making or evaluating calcs.

Unfortunately, Calc Group isn't an official staff member that Wikia gives special privileges to such as admin, chat mod, etc. As such, Antvasima has came up with the idea of giving all the Calc Group members the Rollback ability if they do not already hold other staff positions.

This is just a small gesture to try and show our tremendous appreciation for these users. As well as an additional benefit to award Calc Members with. We are more than willing to trust you guys with this extra privilege and power.

I'd just like to personally say to the Calc Group that you people have my greatest gratitude for all of your tremendous hard work and help. I know dealing with calculations and math isn't always easy or enjoying to do, however you guys are still willing to do so for the well being of the wiki. It can never be stressed by me enough how much I appreciate that. Our site, our pages and our community would be nowhere near where it is at if it weren't for the Calc Group.

I know that Antvasima, and most other users on this site feel the exact same way as I do. So from all of us, thank you very much.

While this doesn't directly affect me, this is a nice gesture. I always felt like the Calc Group should had else something going for them position wise.

Side note, I believe this winter marks up a full year of being a calc group member (or, at least when I started doing calcs proficiency -- I remember that because my first calcs had a Christmas avatar). Awesome.

Thank you for your consideration and appreciation, Ryu. This will help tremendously. I hope Fan and Liger feel the same way, too.
No problem and thanks for the kind words. You should also thank Ant, who was the one who came up with this idea.

Honestly, you guys deserve it. Complicated math is no easy task to solve. Congrats calc members and well done in the idea, Ryu.

Ant came up with the idea. Not me.

I am really glad to know this. I am not a calc guy myself but calcers do the most complicated work on the wiki by far. The lower tier characters (tier 4 and below) would all have unknown or wanked/downplayed stats if not for the calcers.

I also pay my respect to DontTalk, Gwynbleid, Lina Shields and other retired calcers who's contribution are priceless. Quality calcs are becoming rarer to find each day, we should appreciate whatever specialisted calcers we've got

@Dino and all the others Thank you very much for the kind words.

Yeah, I too always felt our calc group members needed a bit more power. But I did not know what they needed and how/when to bring it up.

Would be nice if calc group members had privileges comparable to content mods though. That'd be nice. But I don't know what other staff members may think of this.

Content moderators have the ability to edit any profile that they want, and have limited supervision. It is considerably harder to reach this position than discussion moderator, as it requires a massive amount of trust, and consistent help with responsible and competent cleanup work.

Regrettably, although we greatly appreciate all help from the calc group members, we cannot instantly give somebody this kind of authority as soon as they start to help us out with evaluating and performing calculations, as the two areas are not related. My apologies.

That said, we have now made them into official staff members. I hope that this will make them feel more appreciated.

Aww. :(

But in all seriousness yeah the Calc members are very appreciated, but with enough work someone can become a Calc member in like a week or two if they are good and consistent. However they should be acknowledged as legitimate staff, and most of them end up becoming another type of moderator later on.

Yes, once you get a foot into the door, it is easier to show that you have what it takes to reach another position as well.

@Assaltwaffle

Well, users should only be promoted to the calc group if they help the wiki and are productive.
