Naruto: are these dojutsu considered canon to the series

Ketsuryugan : Appeared in the novel "Sasuke Shinden: Book of Sunrise" and then was animated.


Ranmaru's dojutsu: I figured since kishi made Raiaga and his swords canon, that the entire filler story with Raiaga and Ranmaru must be canon too.

I don't know if we consider the novels cannon even if they were animated but I just can't remember if we do.

Just because Kishi made the guy and his swords cannon doesn't mean the filler he was in is canon.

I guess someone needs to ask Kishi if raiga's story is canon or not. What's the argument against having the novels be canon?

Has any of the novels been mentioned in the official canon? If not, probably no.

Does the current canon have to refrence the novels? If that's the qualifier then shouldn't Raiga's and Ramaru's back story be canon for kishi adapting raiga and his swords? Iirc the last chapter of boruto made a mention of blood prison too.

I remember blood prison being canonized, but only the place, not the events that transpired in the movie it appeared in. Can't point a source though.

And yes, because we don't have much else to go by except if Kishi says it is. I don't know who Raiga and Ramaru though.
