Both are forces of nature in human form, spirits dedicated to the protection of their world with powers of elements & heart.
To a lesser extent, both involve some kind of super form. Aang has the Avatar State, where he has greater power & control over the elements, & Captain Planet is the power of the Planeteers' Rings of the 4 Elements & Heart combined & magnified, IIRC.
Although I suppose having common elements (Lol) doesn't necessarily mean they'll synergize.


There's probably some kind of Pokemon/Digimon pair that has commonalities/synergies, but I'm not sure which is best.

World Ending, Electric Boogaloo Edition

Misaka Mikoto

Cole MacGrath

Misaka is squishy so Cole will cover for her tanking any hit. Cole needs power, Misaka provides him power. Even if Misaka runs low on power, Cole can gather power so it's more they become a perpetual energy motion with electricity version.

Cole can also heal others.

Misaka can make up for Cole's water weakness.

Cole fulfills a more melee niche.

Misaka fulfills the sniping niche.

Cole has ice, Misaka has sand.

Cole can also continuously discover new powers with electricity overcharge, and eventually ice overcharge. With Beast version, he can never die but causes everyone else to die.

Misaka on her higher form can do the same but can also be cured by Cole absorbing her energy and even helping her adapt. All while both are getting stronger and stronger.

The thunder duo gonna destroy the world.
 
Yu Narukami (Persona) and Sora (Kingdom Hearts)

Both are versatile powerhouses who believe deeply in Bonds and their power. They're likely to feed off their mutual bond to some extent and get stronger as a result. The idea is that they can fluctuate their roles in combat. Sora wants to rush in? Yu can support him with buff's and long rang Magic. Maybe You wants to thrash the enemy with a Persona? Sora keeps back and supports him with his own Hax and Shot Locks. They both constantly grow in battle and are highly adaptable. Thus, this is the team I would personally choose to work together.

The thing about this tag team is that we have:
Ainz, who is an extremely versatile spellcaster due to his 700+ spell repertoire, he has a magic for almost every situation, wich allows him to beat almost any other character in Pvp after he loses to them once and devises a strategy the second time. (since his build is more of a versatility/roleplay thing than anywhere near meta.) This is not even mentioning the amount of prep he can get with prior knowledge, such as changing his equipment and taking a World Item with him (overpowered magic relics with extremely powerful effects.) and the monsters he can summon. Needless to say, if he has good prior knowledge on a foe he's almost unstoppable.
Weaknesses: somewhat paranoid and overly cautious when he lacks knowledge, his build heavily relies on having prior intel to counter his enemies as opposed to being directly strong, while resistant to almost every hax in this wiki he ironically lacks good/reliable defensive options against direct AP damage, such as higher levels of regen or long lasting invulnerability.

Subaru, who while by himself is just a normal human with no real abilities, he has Return by Death, wich gives him unlimited tries in any fight he has, oftenly sending him back from a few minutes at worst to a few days at best, on top of superceding magic wich should by all means nullify his ability. (such as returning from EE that erases you from history, like the White Whale's comsumption.) That and he also has his own array of hax magic with Beatrice at his best, wich lets him BFR you to another dimension and even create a perfect barrier around himself that can protect him from almost anything at the cost of making him immobile.
Weaknesses: weak physically and in direct offense, while RBD makes him and his allies unkillable in theory, he needs to rely on using other's to their full capacity, due to his limited acting range.

So we essentially have a team where both weaknesses are completely covered by each other, with Subaru giving Ainz pretty much all intel infinite loops can give. (Specially since Subaru can just make a barrier around himself and spectate as Ainz tries everything in his arsenal before death) and also covers all defensive needs with his infinite retries. Meanwhile Ainz can easily use telepathy on Subaru to give himself full intel even in the worst case scenario where they loop back to the start of the fight and then use his versatility to give Subaru the boundless array of offensive hax he could ever need, on top of summons/equipment and gear that could vastly turn the battle their side should they be given a full day of prep.
(That and Ainz's death magic means he can ask Subaru to drop his shield and kill him with a thought at any moment to escape an incap situation or a dead end.)

Ignoring the fact that they would DEFINITELY not be on the same side, this works quite well. Granted Subaru is a great tag along for any super haxed character lol

Canon Barusu, sure.
I feel like Greed/Wrath Subaru would be the best Subarus for this personality wise (Ainz would almost certainly try to craft an alliance between Pandemonium and Nazarick if it's Wrathbaru, and i can see Greedbaru fitting perfectly in Nazarick with his perfectionism and pretty much being an undead inside). Can't see either really care for most of Nazarick's antics assuming they don't go after the people he cares about. Too bad losing Beatrice's shield means he'd likely become a collateral in the fight before he can watch it entirely.
 
Sekibayashi Jun and Kanji Igari

Both shit-talking Pro Wrestlers, known for their deceptive acting and willingness to use underhanded attacks. Both strictly adhere to the wrestling principle of not dodging or blocking an incoming attack. They would definitely get along well.

Their Pro Wrestling background would naturally give them experience working within tag teams, and the similarities in their style mean they should have no problem working together.
