My Hero Academia General Discussion Thread #18

A lot of strange, controversial decisions were being done in the manga after this guy came on, as well as a sense of rushed pace that wasn’t present in the series prior.

This is the guy who came on for the random Mirio reveal in the war that has gone nowhere so far. He was the one that likely stopped Horikoshi from making an entire volume of Nagant’s backstory which Hori wanted to do. He is the reason we had so many back to back to back cliffhangers for months. He’s why Villain Hunt ended early and why we rushed into the final fight. He’s why Class 1A didn’t respond to things for a long ass time and why Deku being saved was only like 3 chapters.

Pacing issues are literally this guys brand. Every series you see in that tweet? Axed, cut off, discontinued. All of them having pacing issues as a huge complaint, and I’ll eternally be salty over Red Hood specifically.

This guy wrecks any series he touches as his track record has shown. It was painfully obvious that he was the problem so now he’s outta Jump and, the second that happens? We get back to back beautifully paced MHA chapters with Endeavor that lead into AFO going back to his Prime and extending the life of this series by well more than a year.
Good thing we got rid of him before MHA met the same fate, then...

Have you seen their track record?
Nah

Oh ok thanks for explaining.

In order to unlock the Nagant volume, we must travel back in time and collect the infinity stones to undo the editing of Taguchi and the loss of our pacing

Deku and All Might still need that Resistance to Heat...

It seems that this chapter will be focused on the Heroes vs Shigaraki's cancer growth, which feels a bit disappointing given the cliffhanger with Deku from last chapter

We’ve been blue balled yet again

@TheRustyOne What would happen if you used Gas Explosion / Solid Explosion Detonation Velocity instead of Nitroglycerin Detonation Velocity for the calc you did with Nine blocking an explosion (Gas Ranges from 1700 m/s to 3000 m/s. Solid Ranges from 4000 m/s to 10300 m/s)

Todoroki should get class T lifting strength with HHHC because he can restrain the us nomu forcing it to rip itself apart to escape

You know what's funny, 45% Deku resisting being encased in Shoto's ice without showing any kind of reaction or being frozen like Shoto's enemies.

So not only he has Cold Resistance, but is much stronger than USJ Nomu in lifting strength.

That moment with Nomu is so weird after seeing how Todoroki doesn’t ever freeze people that way again until Chimera, who resists being fully frozen by a full power, stronger Shoto.

It’s not like the attack was casual against Nomu or anything, since he was saving All Might and fighting villains for the first time so he’s clearly trying his hardest, but to freeze so good that limbs snap off is quite a good feat that he doesn’t replicate ever again. Yet this feat is important to the story because it’s how the heroes learn about Nomu’s multiple quirks and the first ever showing of Super Regeneration, so it’s clearly intentional that his ice can do that if he wants. I guess he hasn’t really fought anyone that warrants that level? And anyone that does happens to be resistant to cold?

Very strange I’ll say. And against Deku I doubt he tried to freeze him to the bone like he did Nomu or Chimera despite using full power to restrain him.

Never seen anyone do acausality
Because Acausality (likely type 2 here), is the ability to resist fate manipulation/causality manipulation type abilities.
Sir Nighteye’s quirk isn’t that, he just out right sees into somebody’s fate string, Deku changed fate all on his own

Wouldn't that be type 4 instead of 2?

No because Deku still operates on the normal system. Nighteye’s quirk is always correct, it should always be correct.
He changed the end of the fight through sheer ******* will, which is manipulation not being immune to it, because he still fell into events that Nighteye predicted before, just changed the outcome of the pivotal moment (aka dodge the hit that should have killed him)

Type 2: Temporal Singularity: Characters with this type of Acausality do not exist in either the past or the future, only the present.

The description of type 2 really doesn't match whatever izuku did. Because we see izuku in multiple futures.

So I’m pretty sure we can agree that Shiggy’s fingers aren’t as durable as his main body, but people surviving hits from them definitely applies to their durability.

Also, Bakugo is about to use a Howitzer Impact Cluster, which is hype. If it damages the main body then yeah, that move specifically is Prime AM level, since we know Cluster and Howitzer Impact are stronger than Bakugo individually, let alone combined.

Still questioning what that picture of Bakugou with a metric shit ton of cannons is, was it a fever dream?
