My armor is cooler than yours - Gilgamesh (Fate) vs Kharn the Betrayer (Warhammer 40K)

So... We using Gil at his strongest? That means 5-A. Granted, Kharn could possibly negate some of Gil's hax - like sword spamming - but I doubt Kharn could negate Gil going H2H with haxed weapons.

That being said, if Gil is at 5-A, a single good hit would completely demolish Kharn.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not 100% sure about Kharn's hax negation, only that it negates anything Khorne doesn't deem 'fair'.

What constitutes as a victory isn't stated. As per wiki rules, incap is also an option.

Edit: Wait, didn't see bloodlusted. My bad.

Would sword spam really be considered "unfair"? I was under the impression that Korne only negates hax, like mind control and reality warping

Well he negated gunfire if I remember correctly...

I recall someone explaining that the attacks were supposed to be 'unfair'. For example if you use a gun or attack to just keep firing in hit and run tactics I'm sure that would be deemed unfair. But if you're getting closer and just using that to add on to your attacks while fighting close up or short ranged I think it's fine.

Well then I guess Gil's normal "sword spam from a distance" would probably be deemed unfair, but if he fought like he did against shirou in Stay Night, up close and personal with complementing sword spam, then that would be alright.

On the other hand, Gil couldn't win a straight sword fight against a teenage kendo practitioner, so I question his ability to win in a close up fight,

How good is Kharn's power nullification? Gilgamesh defeated BB, who has a similar power, and resisted her control over time, space, causality, matter, and imaginary numbers.

Kharn's power nullification is granted by Khorne, who nullifies anything he sees as "unfair" or "dishonorable".

So it's Tier 1.

Welp, that's pretty unfair.

Given that Gilgamesh's entire power-set is magic based, he doesn't really have much to go on then.

Isn't it only summoning the weapons that's magic based? And it would also be 'unfair' if his enemy has no access to his weapons and I still side with Gilg here due to damage output even with Ea. And I'm more than sure Gilgamesh lost to Shirou due to his refusal to go all out against a weakling and PIS.

@CoreOfimbalance I doubt Khorne would stop Gil summoning his weapons, he'd probably just stop them hitting Kharn. Otherwise Gil wouldn't have any weapons at all. Also, while its true that Gil lost due to his refusal to go all out, this was more because he refused to use Ea, the weapon that would win it for him instantly than because he was intentionally not fighting at his best. Gil doesn't fight close up normally, the only reason he fought like that with Shrirou was because Shirou had the perfect counter to Gate of Babylon, so its reasonable to assume he isnt that great in a sword fight.

@Llama

He's decent, but far from a master. Kharn vastly outclasses him in terms of on the ground combat experience, since Gil is used to just obliterating his enemies with his treasury.

@Reppuzan, Yea, I was only referring to the part where Monarch said that a teen kendo practitioner>Gil in swordsmanship.

@Llama

Well... Shirou wasn't using his Kendo skills there. When he copies a weapon, he is able to download all of the original user's information and experience into his brain. While using swords like Caliburn, he was copying Saber's technique and was copying Archer's technique throughout his fight with Gil.

Ok, fair enough, I forgot Shirou copies the fighting skills as well. Still, Gil doesn't normally fight up close with weapons (hell he doesn't even know how to use most of them, he just spams them at his enemies and hopes they have some on hit effect), so he wouldn't be the best with them.

@Monarch Laciel

True, but in CCC he does enter close combat with a bunch of them. His attacks aren't as skillful as the others though, obviously.

Just from looking at the CCC page, isn't that Gil a computer simulation? Or is there some magical thing going on that means it really is him? I only know Stay Night and Zero

@Monarch

It's a mass of photonic crystals with enough processing power to warp reality and summon hundreds of Servants with a problem by recreating their information.

Magecraft works a bit differently in Fate/Extra since it has been declining steadily to the point that humans can only transmit magecraft in the form of programs called Code Casts under normal circumstances.

No it was full holy spirit Gil, he wasn't even supposed to be there hence why he then destroyed half of the moon cell which was deemed a "god"

Ea stomps this guy hard, he can't render something that destroys realities "unfair"

@TheVisionaryDeathdealing

Gil isn't going to be able to deal with someone whose power nullification comes from a Tier 1 entity.

To put it simply: Khorne despises anything with magic in it by default. Magic and trickery signifies physical weakness to Khrone and his followers along with an unwillingness to engage in martial combat. The fact that almost all of Gil's weaponry is magic...well...

Khorn wouldn't take issue with Durandal because it has no crazy powers and amounts to just an exquisite weapons of hardy make. Things like Ea, Enkindu, Vajra, etc., yeah, those are a no go.

Even if Gil was throwing ordinary weaponary at Kharn, the fact that the GoB fires those weapons in basically what amounts to telekinesis would irk the Blood God. In fact, using the Gate at all would piss Khorne off. So if Kharn were to close the distance and Gil tries to open the gate around him to surround him, Khorne wouldn't even let the portals open.

Except Ea isn't Magic.......So he's not nullifying it, its a Divine weapon which alters realty lol putting it under the classification of Magic is a huge understatement.

@Repuzzan I'm new to the site so I don't get the whole tier thing but again its reality warping to the extreme,in FHA he can use it to open up a crack to the truth of the world which Khorne would then fall into assuming nullifaction only works on attacks that directed at him. This nullifaction everyone is talking about isn't even present on his Wiki page so its not like I can understand what it does

@TheVisonary

It's a NP that can not only destroy the world but can also tear something apart via space-time distortions and ignores durability to a degree. Khrone is not going to let that pass. Anything that involves something that is not a product of martial might or supernatural gets nullified as it is considered dishonorable.

@TheC2

  • Kh├órn is the most favoured mortal servant of Khorne, and is accordingly granted protection against witchery by his patron. Such is Khorne's contempt for "witching tricksters" that psykers will find their power nullified when attempting to target Kh├órn, and Force Weapons will not function should they manage to score a hit upon the frenzied Khornate Berzerker

This is literally the only thing I can find about nullification on his true wiki page, and I don't see how classifying a divine item that can destroy the world as "witching tricksters" should be a thing.I'm fairly certain you guys are overstating his not that hax ability lol

Lets also not forget that Gil's armor also nullifies all attacks below a certain parameter within the Fate verse so we could easily go the route of not being able to touch Gil also.

@TheVisionaryDeathdealing

The problem is that power is coming from a being that is literally infinitely more powerful than Gil. It would be a No Limits Fallacy to say that Gil would be able to resist the powers of a Tier 1 being like Khorne.

@Reppuzan

He's a god is he not? Gil is literally a god slayer, granted the different verses but still I think you're taking this a little too far, its a blessing that has not even shown any hax power except to ward off minor magic and some specific to the verse weapons Ea is a divine weapon (so created by divinity just like the blessing) which alters reality lol I don't see it faltering and the fact that its the only thing this guy has to make this an argument as well....doesn't bode well for him. Gil's a bit underrated on this site I see.

@NotJimSterling

Never said that but looking at Khornes wiki page he doesn't even have many feats just hype lol he's just so high tier for simply being a god and I was merely stating Gil is half-god himself as well as having slayed a god. That is liteally all I said. Don't know what your first sentence means at all, this also isn't a debate between Gil and Khorne its between Gil and Kharn.

@Core

Because you still have to hit someone with it in close combat to make it work.

Khorne is the strongest chaos god who deal with that guy and the other chaos gods magic on daily basis.

@COB He only use it against unfair opponent.

@TheVisionaryDeathdeailng

Kharn gets his power nullification from Khorne, a ludicrously powerful Tier 1 being who is many times infinitely more powerful than Gil and above everything in the Nasuverse except for Akasha.

Not on for long but generalizing my questions

@Reppuzan

So.... a weapon that has haxx and is used melee will work just fine? Like if Gilgamesh uses Ea melee?

@Not Jim Sterling

How haxx and unfair do you have to be to bypass his anti-haxx power? Or rather define unfair.
