That's because what they are made of. It's a protector after all. And there was 40 of them. But once it touched the phone, which has a much more similar metal to the trash can, that thing was torn apart. So an 8-C+ gun facing a 9-C. It's gonna rip that thing apart. Badly. They aren't surviving. And the broom most certainly is dead.

phones and trash cans are not made of similar stuff, metal trash cans are normally solid aluminum, phones are glass, plastic, some tiny tiny peices of metal for electronics (and usually its a weaker metal like gold or copper) and mabye a thin layer of aluminum in the casing, screen protectors on the other hand are solid plastic.
 
The main point is this video is showing the fact energy is energy, and a bullet can leave a far larger hole and far more damage than its own size. It's Far Far Far too powerful not to do the same thing except too a massively higher degree
