Most Overrated Anime/manga ever

But it went downhill when Ben-sama starts acting like a glory-hog asshole, completely throwing away all his character development and maturity.

@IS. Are you kidding?! SAO is one of the best anime of our generation! Kirito's interactions with Asuna and BallsDeep69 are incredibly well-written! It deserves the attention it gets.

Dragon Ball Z Abridged and SAO abridged are the only two anime that are actually better abridged then there original versions lul.

Yeah, Omniverse kinda went down the drain. It did have some really interesting story arcs, villans and such though imo. But for Ben 10, Ultimate Alien and before is where its at.

I feel that everyone here saying that something is overrated are just saying that they don't like a show that many people do in fact like.

I'd say that for something to be overrated it would have to be something very popular that can generally be accepted to be of lower quality.

In terms of anime I have no idea which one it would be
 
one piece. I will NEVER forget when a guy in comicvine did a thread of aokiji vs ten tails madara (he legit almost won). oh, and gear 2nd luffy vs bm Naruto. that one too.
 
Probably gonna get a little hate but Naruto is fairly overrated. Sure its story is..... eh... okay, but the animation and the story later on is just.... meh. It only gained traction because it was one of the first shonens to deal with "You can be the best with hard work!".
 
Another overrated anime would certainly be Star Wars Evangelion.

The OG Series was great, and built a massive, thrilling expanded universe delving more into the lore of this fantastic setting.

However, once Disney-chan Enterprises got their filthy, money-grabbing hands on the franchise, they completely threw away everything that made the original fun and interesting in favor of tailoring to pure nostalgia, basically doing the first three movies again only slightly different.
 
nah. altho the story is kinda messed up (people say its czu of plotholes, but I have yet to see one), but the anime fights are easily the best out there.

Naruto was pretty brilliant until the end of Pain arc, then it became trash. Overall it is overrated. I also find it hypocritical of some Naruto fans to call Dragon Ball overrated, yet they ignore Naruto's own issues.
 
that's cuz Naruto doenst have that many issues tho. if u dint like the story, then that's cuz of an opinion, but then people ask what do u base ur opinion on? and they say whatever they, which most of the time is like I said, cuz of plotholes. like, why do u think it became trash (sides for the whole kaguya arc, cuz that I agree on being pretty trashy and shit)
 
Uhhh, no. Objectively from any reviewer's point of view, a lot of the story after the pain arc was just bad. Or at least it wasn't up to par with the standards at the time. And yeah there's plenty of plotholes, which the pain arc and before didn't have as much of.

The whole 4th world war arc was top tier garbage, it crapped on my whole memory of the series. It's far worse than anything I have seen in canon Dragon Ball. Naruto fans ignore how awful the final arc was and pretend the series was a masterpiece. I haven't seen many shows becoming a parody of themselves as Naruto
 
I don't really buy into series being overrated or anything but for some reason, I literally cannot stand anything involving the Fate/Nasuverse series or its many spin offs.
 
aaahhh, but see being 'bad' and being 'not as good' are two different things though. of course the og show>>> the newer show. why do u think that people hate boruto? cuz boruto is the most further thing away from the original Naruto show that we liked.
 
Naruto in a nutshell=

If there's an Uchiha in the fight, then you'll probably see some asspull technique.

If there's Sasuke in the fight, you'll probably see someone fangirling over him

If there's Naruto in the fight, expect feels, flashbacks, cringy voice acting and talk no jutsu.

If there's Kakashi in the fight, expect him to lose to hype up the opponent.

If there's Sakura in the fight, you are probably still remembering her fight with Sasori.

Of course it is, it's also one of the most consistent long running manga I have seen so far. Sure it can be slow at times, but that doesn't affect the quality of writing.
