Everything they do is explained thoroughly, they talk up every animal that an important character uses, they bring up past feats occasionally, and they mention their power ranks all the time. Jokes aside, I would argue JJK sort of, but not because of power, but because of hax. While Gege might not go crazy with power and speed for the series, he loves giving them some sweet hax. Xiaolin Showdown is another smaller pick I would say.

Personally though, as long as the author doesn't focus on the power scaling aspect of a series more than it's actual story and characters, than I think it's perfectly fine. Like who cares if an author gives a character a couple planet or star busting statements or feats if the actual story and character interactions and developments are really enjoyable and well thought out.

As someone who's planning to write a series with combat in the future, I've honestly thought about this constantly, and everytime I have a schizo thought moment imagine a fight, it honestly tends to be more tame in scale for the most part (even when it's with characters that are meant to be crazy strong) and focuses more on the fluidity and impact of the fight (like instead of just having a character punch a character through a planet, it's a character delivering a damn good hit to the gut, one that you know has the enemy reeling).
 
SCP went from "dude on 4chin showing his love over the british (DR.Who?)", to "somewhat scary stuff", to "insert ergenverse burger copypasta", obviously made for powerscaling, except it isn't memeable like xianxia, and it doesn't have any good writting to stand on his own

Knowing where characters scale is very helpful when writing a fanfic, because I do not want to see a planet buster stuck in a metal box.
