It's not that he doesn't use it like that, he actually can't use it like that. If Mirio turns solid while inside of something, he gets pushed out of it. So it's something he can never do.

He doesnt know about aura though and he wont know how it works or that its a full body invisible forcefield just by punching

And again this is assuming he manages to land a solid hit on her given her powers and fighting style

Mirio would have to know about aura, and know how thick it is. Because if he makes the slightest mistake he'll be pushed away from Neo.

@Schnee How exactly would he know? Its an invisible full body forcefield that turns bladed and piercing attacks into blunt attacks, he wouldnt know how it works unless he hit her with one of those and noticed how she didnt get cut

He punches the aura

He realizes his fist isn't connecting so he assumes it's a quirk, and punches through it by halving his fingers and the rest of his palm.

This is Mirio, if he hits her once, he's more then smart enough to work around it.

Also even if Mirio does feel something, why would he assume it's an invisible forcefield? At best he'll probably think she has harden skin or something like that.

But how would he realize his fist isnt touching her? Aura is skin-tight and both he and her will feel the punch if he hits her

Isn't it blatantly obvious that you're punch diesnt connect if you punch it?

If you punch someone, clearly hit them, and yet still don't make contact with their flesh, common sense says something is wrong.

It being skin tight isn't helpful when your own body sense tells you you didn't make contact.

Neo likely sees his intangibility and uses illusions to punch him around it.

Yeah, but at best he'll assume she has harden skin and think nothing of it. Especially when Neo reacts in pain and it doesn't seem to be a big defense boost.

I highly doubt even Mirio would notice his fist stopping millimeters away from her skin.

No because Aura is close enough to the body that its almost impossible to notice, especially given that if he hits her she'd still be hurt

Though again that's a big IF

How, it's invisible so he won't see it, and the shield is literally skin tight. Like I said, he'll assume that she has harden skin or something like that.

Since he can't see it, phasing through it should be impossible for him. He can't judge how thick it is and will likely just get pushed away from her.

Yeah, because Ruby is taking massive damage. Aura has always been visible if your hit by something really strong, but Mirio has less AP than Neo's Dura so that won't happen.

Tyrian was an 8-B playing around with High 8-C.

(Also that might just be for effect)

I mean Tyrian wasn't exactly serious in any capacity, so I don't think him being 8B is a cause of it Otherwise her aura would have broken from that one strike

Also, why is Neo High 8-C? She beat Yang in combat through skill and her aura, not through sheer physical strength.

Heck Roman's weaker than her under the current stats.
