I'm giving it to Ridick for superior experience and stamina and while I can't deduce which character is truly smarter then the other it does seem that Ridick's intellect has been working him wonders throughout the movies when it comes to combat.

Just gonna point out that Riddick's never used Furyan Energy against single targets IC before, so restricting it won't do much.

Still, I'd say Riddick takes this. Anything (and I mean anything) in their surroundings will become a tool or weapon once Riddick has his hands on it, and while the two seem fairly even in terms of intelligence and physicals, Riddick has a very long history of outmatching and outsmarting mercenaries and bounty hunters in combat, especially so during melee encounters.

Plus, Riddick's pain threshold is pretty insane for a low-end 9-B. The guy used a knife to dig an explosive out of his neck without even flinching, and he let an alien sink its teeth all the way into his leg just so he could perform a clean decapitation on it. If he gets hit with anything that isn't immediately fatal, it's not going to stop him.
