MCU Phase 5 General Discussion Thread

Proooobably best to find something else. That sort of contradicts it being the true variant from the comics.

Agreed. IF the crossover standards only required just one of the verses officially confirming the crossover is canon then we'd be golden right now, but because of how our Crossover standards work we need to either:
- Have the MCU confirm it's canon to them.
OR
- Have the MCU show that the Marvel Comics are a part of their verse.

If we have evidence of both that'd be huge, but we really only need one or the other.
I'd say let's try to find evidences of both. Again, this is wild, it would be a ridiculously big upgrade for the MCU and you can bet many people will go against the very idea so we must have and use everything. Better to do too much than too little (as we say in my country).

What would the crt be about anyway what is actually getting changed/upgraded if we manage to provide enough what is the goal to achieve?
I guess K.E.V.I.N, God of Stories Loki, the TVA and maybe even Alioth, the Watcher, Infinity Ultron and comparable characters would get upgraded to 1-A. Honestly, even one 1-A tier is already big enough to get a lot of attention.

Was that truly the Marvel Comics or was that just an Easter Egg ? We need to be absolutely sure about this.

Well, the first CRT should be about just making it so that they're in the same Multiverse. That's priority number 1.

The second CRT would be about what changes as a result, such as tiering.

We should NOT have both in the same thread, that's just asking for chaos.

Agreed 100%

It might be a good idea to wait a few days until What If? finishes up, as we know Kahhori will be showing up again at some point, and there's a chance her comic could get acknowledged.
That's... A really good fricking point. It'd be awesome if Kahhori directly references the comic within What-If, it'd be the most direct confirmation of a Two-Way canon.

The issue about this I don’t know if we’d see that happen because what need would she have to bring up those events in the show at best the Loki that was in the poster is the same Loki she fought in the comic

magic users and gods and characters with telepathy could get heavily affected too due to the magic system n astral stuff n god physiology stuff in comics if mcu is gonna follow those stuff too

Kahhori even mentioning the events of the comics would already be pretty big

Depends the multiverse functions on the realm of possibility stating anything is possible meaning it’s possible that they are the same multiverse but share differing rules and systems at the same time

That front giant Loki on the front poster being that Loki she fought in the comic would be even bigger if any of these things actually gets mentioned then the crt is 100% can’t be denied anymore so we just have to hope one of those two things happens in the next episodes

In which episode is she supposed to appear?

The good news is Zeus is most likely appearing in tonight’s episode and if he doesn’t it means they are saving him for the final 2 episodes
This is the Howard the Duck episode if I recall. Hope if he appears there, Zeus will still be taken a bit seriously, at least not enough to be a complete joke

Summary for episode 5.

"In a universe where The Eternals never stopped The Emergence, the birth of an incubating Celestial shatters the Earth Civilization endures on the rocky remnants of our planet, where Quentin Beck leads an authoritarian regime until freedom fighters recruit Riri Williams on a deadly mission to take him down."

It's also the episode with the Mysterio pic from the trailer. Might imply Mysterio got new technologies. Maybe even Eternal/Celestial tech/power. If that's the case, might be interested into making a profile

In the poster they had Zeus in the back next to the watchers and arishrem and by the trailer he looked pretty serious I really want him to get some crazy feat or new scaling

White vision episode or no
No idea. But maybe.

Aside from that, I noticed there's a shot of Ikaris watching green screens in the trailer. Maybe it'll just be in the intro but the shot appears on some posters so it might indicate the Eternals may have greater importance than thought at first (which would be great)

With the release of the comic Kahhori: Reshaper of Worlds, the question has come up as to whether we should be covering the comic. Here are the relevant facts:

  1. It is very evidently the same Kahhori. There is not a ton of question about this, the summary at the beginning of the comic features description of her precise activities in What If... Kahhori Reshaped the World? and What If... Strange Supreme Intervened?
  2. The comic was worked on by Marvel Comics, of which Kevin Feige is Chief Creative Officer alongside his having the same title at Marvel Entertainment, Marvel Television, and, most pertinently, Marvel Animation. This contrasts his role of President at Marvel Studios
  3. The comic opens with a foreword by one of Kahhori's creators, as well as an interview with her voice actor in What If...? I am specifically noting this here to explain that this is not particularly relevant, since both of these people are very relevant to the character and the interviews could have been here regardless of the MCU
  4. The comic is released under a specific Marvel Comics banner, Marvel's Voices. This is a non-MCU banner designed to highlight the diversity of heroes within Marvel. This specific comic featured an Indigenous American superhero released during Indigineous Peoples Heritage Month
  5. A variant cover using concept art for Kahhori from Marvel Animation which has the Marvel Animation logo on it
  6. The comic has yet to be acknowledged directly by an employee of Marvel Studios, Marvel Animation, or any division which produces MCU material

The second any of these comics get referenced within What If is when that next bit of confirmation is there.

Actually Zeus might of gotten an insane feat after all the lighting that one shot everyone didn’t do any damaged to Zeus despite hitting Zeus and that baby was so powerful even dormammu wanted it as a host

Just watched the episode. Zeus somehow survived a lightning beam that killed tons of characters, including a Thanos (once again just used as a joke) and wasn't even scratched. Also, it seems he can teleport his troops via lightning..

Big W for Zeus being the only guy who survived if only we knew how strong that baby was so we could quantify it😭😭😭

Episode 4 of What If...? season 3 was quite entertaining!

  • I guess Howard and Darcy's baby, born on the Cosmic Convergence, easily gets 5-A scaling for being above even Thanos, with only Zeus withstanding the energy bolt
  • The Zealots view the baby (as an egg) as a powerful vessel that could serve as a host body for Dormammu
  • The Zealots are capable of striking down Yondu
  • Kaecilius has trouble taking down Nick Fury, yet later gets in a shoving match with Malekith
  • I think a decent amount of the action between the many different parties in this episode is going to be difficult to reconcile with existing scaling

But the real question is how hard did the baby hit Zeus?

What is this episode? Pure chaos 😭

The baby is Byrdie btw, shown in the trailers, the character with wings, also has energy beams iirc. Wouldn't be surprised if Phoenix Force is involved in some way, Storm is also involved.

Why is she so powerful again, she was born during the convergence? She probably isn't the only baby born during the convergence, so every baby born during the convergence is superpowered like that? That would make this universe 10x more chaotic and it's already chaotic. Convergence definitely didn't give Byrdie her powers.

Towards the end, it is implied she senses the Watcher. She starts crying, a lot, when Darcy and Howard leave the room and the Watcher is visible.

You might be correct, Mysterio is connected to some wires and he has a glowing face in the helmet

Crazy how we’re 3 seasons in and Thanos has done nothing but die. Marvel, I come before you humbled and humiliated, I want you to give this man a break.

I guess I'll accept it, his win in IW is still massive
I think Thanos kind of had his moment of glory so I can accept it, especially if it's to give us badass characters like Infinity Ultron (I'm more salty about Strange Supreme's end and to an extent Arishem in the Agatha episode but hey it is what it is). Plus, there are rumors he might appear in the next Avengers movie, possibly to help against Doom
