MCU Phase 5 General Discussion Thread

Thought that was kind of evident lmao he's already Low 1-C and that's kind of enough to destroy all of existence in the MCU

Loki, God of Stories (canon) is also Low 1-C.
Yeah but that’s Loki all of existence basically confirms he’s on the level of infinity Wanda who was going to burn the entire tree to ashes etc

Sounds pretty exciting

Also, there seem to be implications that because she was born during the Convergence which is associated with the Aether, Byrdie might have powers connected to the Reality Stone. Interesting and a nice idea, considering we already have two characters related to the Space Stone (Kahhori and Carol) and one to the Mind Stone (Wanda) and the Reality Stone can easily be the most versatile. Again, just a theory but I would love if if they continued this trend of characters empowered by different Stones and showing abilities related to their specific Stone (would love to see one with powers based on the Soul Stone in particular)

Divergence points:
Captain Carter: 1943 (Heinz Kruger decides to enact his assassination earlier causing Steve Rodgers to get injured during Project Rebirth and Peggy Carter to be to one to take the serum.)
T'Challa Star Lord: 1988 (While looking for Peter Quill, the Ravager accidentally track the wrong energy signature, accidentally having travelled to Wakanda and finding a young T'Challa. The Ravagers then take him with them into space, ignoring Peter for some reason)
Avengers Assassination: Sometime in the 2000s (Hope Van Dyne becomes a S.H.I.E.L.D Agent and time in Odesa, Ukraine in 2009. A grieving Hank Pym decides to take his anger out on Fury by killing every single Avengers candidate just to **** over Fury.)
Doctor Strange Supreme: 2016 (Unlike his main timeline counterpart, this Doctor Strange does not journey into the mystic arts because of his broken hands but instead over the loss of his lover, Christine Palmer. Not able to let her go, Strange ventures into the use of dark magic as he finds himself unable to undo her point of death.)
Zombies: Sometime before 2018 (Janet Van Dyne get infected with a virus while out in the Quantum Realm, causing her to become a zombie. When Hank Pym arrives in 2018 to rescue her, he finds a zombefied version of his wife, who attacks him causing him to be infected as well. The two are then brought back to their original realm by Hope and proceed to spread the infection across the world.)
King Killmonger: 2009 (While deep undercover, Killmonger discovers a plot to assassinate Tony Stark and decides to use it to his advantage to start a war between Wakanda and the United States)
Party Thor: 965 (Rather than taking the abandoned Loki for himself for future diplomatic relations, Odin decided to return him back to his family thus establishing a more peaceful relationship between Asgard and Jotunheim. Odin would continue on to have close, peaceful relationships with former enemies, creating a time of peace among the realms and leaving Thor a reckless, spoiled only-child.)
Infinity Ultron: 2015 (Ultron manages to take Vision's body as his own, beating the Avenger while going for a different plan to wipe out humanity, a nuclear option.)
Nove Corps Nebula: 2014 (Ronan somehow manages to kill Thanos and conquers the universe. An injured Nebula is rescued by Nova Corps a made a member, though because they are unable to beat Ronan, they instead decide to lock down Xander, closing it off from the rest of the universe)
1988 Avengers: 1988 (Yondu finds Peter Quill and rather than adopting him, he does what he's done before and take him to his father. Given the powers of a Celestial, Peter decides to visit Earth one last time with his father allowing him to so he can destroy and absorb it for him)
Christmas: 2014 (Justin Hammer either breaks out of or gets released from prison early and decides to attack the Avengers Tower in order to steal a vial of Hulk's Blood)
Tony Stark on Sakaar: 2012 (Iron Man blows up the Chitauri fleet during the Battle of New York but this time fails to make it back through the wormhole, leaving him to get warped to Sakaar. Gamora, who is sent by Thanos to assassinate him, follows him to the trash heap of the universe)
Kahhori: Thousands of years ago (Ragnarök occurs and Surtur manages to destroy Asgard, causing the Tesseract the float through the depth of space, eventually landing on Earth where the Haudenosaunee Confederacy would be located. Members of the Mohawk people would eventually accidentally stumble upon where the Tesseract was located and be transported to an alternate realm that they call the Sky World. This group decides to live there in peace, closing them off from any hardship from their original dimension.)
Hela Banished on Earth: 959 (Rather than banishing Hela to Hel, Odin decides to do what he did to Thor in the original timeline, stripping Hela of her godhood and sending her to Earth, where she'd land in China and encounter Xu Wenwu)
1602: 2018 (This dumb as **** episode has Captain America accidentally hitting the time stone while battling Thanos, causing a ripple that would fuse the present with the year 1602. Captain Carter is involved for some reason)
Mecha Avengers: 2015? (They don't explain it in the episode, but since Ultron appears in cartoon, the events of Age of Ultron must have occurred. As such, its reasonable to assume that this is a timeline where Hulk decides to return to the Avengers rather than head into space. Grief stricken over the events that occured in Africa, Bruce Banner is at a new low but Sam Wilson tries his best to help him out. Though whe another Hulk incident occurs, Bruce Banner decides to get rid of the beast once and for all, but all this does is release a new gamma monster onto the world, leading to the first gamma war.)
Celestia Agatha: 1947 (The episode takes place on that date, but the events that leads up to it probably happened earlier. Agatha finds out about the god living in the core of the planet and decides she wants a piece of that. She proceeds to absorb the Eternals powers to perform a ritual to take Tiamut's power for her own, but requires the resources to create such a large ritual and the last of the Eternals, Kingo. She decides to play with Howard Stark's ego, making him get into the movie industry.)
Russian Roadtrip: 1991 (Red Guardian finds out about the plan to steal the Super Soldier Serum from Howard Stark and decides to join that mission rather than live in Ohio undercover)
Emergence: ??? (You'd think this shit happened in 2024 like the normal timeline, but apparently it happened earlier from what I've heard which makes no sense to me at all. My only guess would be that they killed Thanos before he performed the snap and the emergence happened in 2018)
1872: 1872 (That's right, not even a universe where everything is still the wildwest but instead everything is in the past for some reason.)

If we don’t get anything showing or mentioning the comics in today episode the crt is cooked or no
It wouldn't be cooked, no, we'd just need confirmation that the Kahhori Marvel comic / MCU related Marvel Comics are canon to the MCU's side. It can be either with direct confirmation from the MCU Staff, or something along those lines. While it being directly stated in the MCU What-If would make this unanimous, we can get something like that to prove it as well

We already got confirmation that the MCU is DEFINITELY canon to the Marvel Comics so no we don't need that.

I finished watching episode 7 of What If...? season 3.

  • The Cosmic Squid Monster/Hydra Champion attacking Xandar easily destroyed Star Blasters and tore through the Jump Point Network and is described by Captain Carter as an interdimensional universe eater that could consume the world
  • Storm, Goddess of Thunder, summons solar winds against the Champion
  • Byrdie and Carter slice through the Champion's tentacles, while Kahhori mostly just creates portals
  • Carter kills the Champion by having Storm launch her through its eye
  • The Eminence has taken over the intro
  • Storm points out that the Fifth Dimension is a higher plane of existence
  • Kahhori has evidently been involved in multiversal adventures since we last saw her, though no specific references to her comic that I noticed
  • Kahhori notes that Infinity Ultron from season 1 was the only being who was able to travel to the Fifth Dimension (though other Infinity Ultron variants exist, none of them heard the Watcher to learn of the multiverse, and thus went inactive after destroying everything in their respective universes)
  • Finding another Infinity Ultron variant is considered potentially risking unleashing the greatest threat the multiverse has ever faced
  • In theory, TVA reset charges could defeat Infinity Ultron
  • Kahhori, Storm, and Byrdie are briefly able to beat down Infinity Ultron, though he's not trying to fight back, and he eventually freezes them with the Time Stone, stating that he could end them with a snap of his fingers if he wanted to
  • One of the other Watchers was able to break Carter's shield and blast back Infinity Ultron
  • Infinity Ultron absorbs the power from the Fifth Dimensional Shard
  • To be continued...

Ultron says he has infinity power when they are jumping to the 5th dimension he also states he can see everything just like the Watcher without having to be in the observational plane infinity Ultron should definitely get a new key in this form since he’s basically watcher + the stones

I wonder if they'll bother fixing the typo in the credits...

Looks like a ******* lot happened in this one.

Interesting how the trio can apparently go to the TvA of all places but can’t reach the observational plane as it’s beyond their capabilities even kahhori

Isn't the tva supposed to a higher dimensional plane existence, scaling up to 5d like that of the observatory plane. Or is it just a higher temporal dimension and not a spatial one like the observatory plane. How can I finish Ultron see all of reality like in the observatory plane but Kahorri can't access it.

It’s possible that even tho it’s called 5d it’s higher then 5d I’m pretty sure dc has something like that

Also confirmed that IU would live for eons if not killed, idk how meaningful that is, kind of expected

The Eminence probably needs a profile I can imagine his powers will be displayed heavily especially if he's fighting Watcher Ultron in the finale.

Going off of rumors here, but I expect a lot of new keys as well. Not sure leaks are allowed, even then to what degree, I won't go into it too much.

Goofy ahh name what ever it is should be after the ultron part not before
Why would that matter? When Ultron got the stones he became "infinity ultron" not "ultron infinity", and let's not even talk about God of stories loki which makes no sense because it was taken from a story from comics when we have the actual official name given by Marvel.
