MCU Phase 5 General Discussion Thread

The Earth if Thor and Ultron got a little bit too freaky fighting each other

I agree, Pre-Awakening characters shouldn't scale to Low 4-C. I fully agree with Thanos and other Post-Awakening characters scaling and, to me, is pretty clear cut. But scaling Pre-Awakening characters too is a bit too much and creates too many problems scaling wise. A CRT should be made about this imho.

About to try and make one
What does the scaling come from ?
captain marvel

when you're Low 4-C but need a floating city to surface wipe 🤔🤔
Not to mention, Thor needed Bifrost to destroy that ice planet but yet he scales above it
Speaking of that ice planet, that Thor put a giant crack into that is currently calced on par with another feat from him that took a long charge up that caused him pain that no one has replied to me yet...

Does New Asgard have star level pavement? Etri is popping off with his new hardware store.

Might as well scale spider-man to small star level now

It was brought to my attention that several scans of many profiles now don't work anymore. It's possibly because all the scans saves by RoTt35 don't work anymore, which is really troublesome. Did anyone else save those scans or know how to get them back up?

What are we gonna do if we don’t have backups?

In the marvels it’s stated this

She tore a hole in space time"...."Can we fix that"..."in theory you and carol can produce the same amount of energy that was used to open it, ill absorb it, and release it

Captain Marvel + Ms Marvel were needed to empower Monica to close 1 incursion Strange was able to close them so Shouldn’t this be an upgrade for strange?

Strange closed a rift between multiple other universes that did not utilize the UNTN

He doesn’t have to utilize that they are basically similar types of incursions
They're not though. One rift was caused by manipulating a jump point which would propagate through the already weakened UNTN, while the other was the universe been torn apart on its own.

Wait a minute, Monica only closed the last rift, not the others, right? I don't recall them saying that the others would close, or were already closed.

obviously they weren’t caused the same way but they are the same thing different cause same result

I've rarely participated in MCU threads on this site, but I gotta say it's the verse that gives me some of the most cognitive dissonance as someone that has seen everything the MCU has put out. The speed stats in particular are insane, but yeah Tier 4 Thor is... something.

What's the problem with speed?

Let me preface this by saying, I have no intention of becoming involved with MCU scaling on the site, and the last time I mentioned this it was taken far too personally by the supporters. This is just my opinion, and I don't want this thread to become a venue for a full blown debate about the subject.

But essentially my opinion is that the speed ratings for the verse are so comically beyond what the movies actually demonstrate that we are essentially willfully ignoring the majority of the portrayals and source material to pretend everything is happening many many orders of magnitude faster than it actually is, based on a small small handful of cherry picked instances.

I don't believe it's reasonable to think that nearly everything we see on screen is happening in relative slow-motion, and IMO the reality is that most characters, including those like Thanos, are more or less moving at human speeds. They aren't moving at supersonic speeds, and certainly aren't moving at the speed of light.
