Pretty sure that it's canon, they will follow Overwatch's path that most, if not all, content will be canon.

Btw there's small lore statements in-between levels of the battlepass. They're, somewhat, accurate to their comic versions.

His skillset is cool, nothing too crazy but that's not bad. They translated Comic MK's marksmanship really well and even used something more recent like his portal creation with his ult, they did their homework.
