And then later stated that a speed-boosted Misako could even the odds as long as she wasn't incompetent -- which she's obviously not, and can land status effects that can leave him frozen and slowed down with just a punch.

That's only if the speed boost is allowed which the OP hasn't (There's also a rule where if speed equalization makes a character who is normally slower than their opponent stomp via speed amp than the match can't be added).
