Lord of the Rings Discussion Thread

Yeah, it's been a great help. I basically just needed to add a summary and some more abilities later.

For the most part I'm working on getting a draft for how the Ainur could look as High 1-A+.

After that I need to make the justification draft into something more like a cosmology blog while including the new justifications.

Might make a few LOTR VS threads soon. A few noteworthy ones I plan on doing are:

  • Arien (Within Eä) VS either Uzi, Doll, or Cyn
  • Melkor/Morgoth (Within Eä) VS The Absolute Solver (Full Potential, aka its 3-A/Low 2-C scaling)
  • Aragon (no Andúril) VS Ryūko Matoi (True LF Synchronized, no Scissor Blade)
  • Gandalf (as the White) VS Ozpin (as King of Vale)
  • Witch-king of Angmar (Base) VS Megatron (Michael Bay, ROTF to DOTM)

Some comments to make. I'd hold off on Morgoth as he'll get some pretty major stuff when it comes to his turn. Stuff like Fear Manip that either makes the soul catatonic or chases it out.

Aragorn without Andúril only has torches as weapons. You'll want to give him a sword.

Gandalf the White will be next up after the elven draft is accepted and I think he'll get major stuff.

Witch-King is after (or with) Gandalf the White depending on if I do both Istari and Nazgûl at once.
 
Could the Elves leave the circles of Arda and go to other places beyond, or are they literally bound to it and unable to leave Arda as a whole?

Arda, perhaps (Arda referring to the Solar System from my recent looks at it) to yes depending on how you take Eärendil as an example of all Elves.

However, not Eä.
 
Since the Númenoreans, Elves and Ainur have Disease Manip Resistance, do you think they could potentially resist viruses and diseases across Fiction like the numerous Viruses and Parasites from Resident Evil, the Radiance from Hollow Knight, the Flood from Halo, etc.?

Depends? The Ainur can't really get physical diseases in a way that matters since their bodies are (usually) just raiment.

The Elves are immune to any diseases in the Legendarium. However, certain diseases in fiction do things that are beyond the scope of reality or the Legendarium, it would depend on the type. Stuff like the Radiance corrupt by dreams first don't they? That may or may not work depending on the method.

Númenoreans are only properly immune to disease on their island (and even then, it's less concerete). Outside the Isle, Númenoreans are just resistant and able to handle disease better due tot heir immense personal health. Similar case for the Elves in regards to mental stuff, albeit lesser.

You might be able to argue the Ainur's Concept Manip and other "Music" related stuff is High 1-A+ even in their lower keys... but I personally wouldn't since they seem limited to just the universe.

But everyone will have Tier 0 resistances, which is pretty damn neat. Ainur will literally be unkillable since they're pretty much just souls who can put on bodies to interact physically if they want. You'll need to be able to either incapacitate them or BFR them.

Well Eru's locked in, Ainur are still waiting for Ultima and co to have a look at the latest dispute before they too can be locked in or not.

I have some draft pages ready. Ainur pages will look pretty copy and paste due to this, but individual ability revision will fix that.

Making a cosmology page is also a thing to do, but that's on the back burner till everything is done.

Some good work, although they'd be High 3-A anyway for thr Silmarils burning Morgoth and the Two Trees as the source of the Silmaril's light and as the greatest cooperative creation of the Valar.

Fair, but I just wanted to do the calc anyway for Morgoth's page on the Top-Strongest Wikia and also to give the Silmarils a lowball.

Well, like Tyranno was saying, these are all supporting calcs anyway. The Valar already scale way above that, and so do the Silmarils by virtue of injuring Morgoth. Something to remember is that the gems contain the full, unadulterated light of the Trees, while the Sun and Moon were made from dying remnants and may not represent a typical fruit.

Nope. They can survive a lot of things that would be lethal or fatal to humans, but flat out massive structural damage is something they can't handle.
 
Would Melkor theoretically have Chaos Manipulation from sowing the concept of discord and thus technically being able to influence it even within Eä?
