Is time travel one of the most op powers?

Think about it, you can beat almost every character as long as they are not bonded to time or are beyond it or eternal

Go to the past and kill goku, go to the oast and kill naruto, go to the past and kill luffy, go to the past and kill thanos, Go to the oast and kill gon, etc

Since 99% of main characters follow a timeline then going back in time and killing them on their weak or baby form is quite op, even killing their parents or their origin.

How would you beat and handle a character this strong on a story? cuz damn

Its actually kinda useless, without a way to known in what moment and place a character born, the user doesn't known where go in order to kill the younger version of the character, so one need like Nigh Omniscience, Telepathy (assuming the target known the details of their birth) or Retrocognition. There's other factors, like the character born in a dangerous environment, or in presence of a powerful being.

Power its also useless if the character born in a place outside time and space, its time locked, temporal presence, non-created, causa sui, nonexistent, or can manipulate their own origin. Plus its a boring way to win, as its basically self-bfr, independently if the character its immune to temporal paradoxes or not, or if the verse simply wouldn't spawn another timeline.

It's useful in the right situation and with the right support abilities. Antoniofer already explained it's flaws.

The biggest flaw in this method is the lack of information regarding the target, including the exact location of the target in the past among other things. Also, almost every kind of Acausality pretty much renders time travel useless. Time travel is good and all, but the user would need some other stuff to make it truly useful and combat applicable.
