In Fairy Tail, Acnologia, in both human and dragon forms, is 5A. Irene (stated to be August's equal, so this applies to him, too) is 6A.
She and Acnologia fought briefly. She landed two strikes. He fought off one, but the second sent him flying quite the distance. He then attacked, and she easily dodged it.
Why isn't she scaling to him?
I know this is FT, and the scaling is nonsense (Laxus went from 6A to 5A in less than a day with 0 explanation), but ya'll try to make it work. If you ask me, there's no point, since the author is very inconsistent and thinks nothing through in his fights.
BUT, for all those who genuinely put work into this series; Why is the following case so? How does Irene not scale to Acnologia?
Fans often mention that he was holding back. Where's the proof? Nothing of the sort is ever mentioned. He even praised her power. Why would a 5A be impressed by a 6A? Not to mention her other, much more powerful form.
