Can someone explain me why the durabilty of the infinity gauntlet is on island level ?
The current justification is that the Uru Metal is stronger than Vibranium and that captain america tanked a few hits with his shield before it broked. How is Vibranium on Island level respectively Thanos AP in base.
Can someone give me a better explanation ?

Hello!
Well, Vibranium is rated as 6-C durability due tanking Thanos attacks, the fact that infinity gauntlet is made by a metal stronger than Vibranium means that Infinity gauntlet scales above a 6-C durability

This, and the fact that the surge from Thanos's Snap released 5 gigatons of TNT according to the holograms in the movie, which is Island Level.

It's actually closer to 6 Gigatons (and the number was still rising, but Rocket switched)
And I known, this is an old thread.

I'd suggest adding an imgur link of the scan instead. Who knows when the comicvine scan could go dead.

Now all that is left to ask a sysop to open Thanos's page so that it can be applied.

OK, so I just double-checked, and the highest the value goes is actually around 5.2-ish gigatons if you go frame-by-frame, the 8 there was likely a remnant from the 4.8 gigaton value before it swelled up to 5.

Oh, shit. So should I just link the video that shows the hologram?

Just wanna point out that Thanos doesn't scale to the 5.2 value fully.
He's baseline 6-C (4.3 GT) due to simultaneously massively upscaling from the High 7-A+ characters like Thor and downscaling from the IG Surge because it caused him severe injuries and burns.

No, it only became critical on the second snap. At the very least he'd be damn near close to the 5.2 gigaton value. That's the bare minimum to actually visibly damage him.

The second snap damn near crippled him. Him reaching that state after only two snaps would imply to me that he's somewhat below. Plus, the 5.2 value really isn't that far off of baseline, so he's technically still pretty close while also being a good bit above Thor tier characters. I personally think it's perfect.
In any case, I'm pretty certain that the baseline thing is what was accepted.

Well 5.2 is like, 1.2-ish times higher than 4.3, so...

I think a 20% or so difference would cover the snaps being capable of badly injuring him, but not nearly enough to where he can't survive it. But oh well, what do I know lol? That's just how I personally feel about it.
