LS becomes irrelevant when durability becomes to high.
For example:
Character A has Class M LS, Character B has peak human LS. Both are somewhat relative in terms of AP. Character A would, should they get a grip on Character B, be able to snap Character B's neck.
This changes if Character B's durability was, on the contrary, 10 or so times higher than Character A's. Character A would be unable to snap their neck or break their bones with sheer grip, but, they'd still be able to restrain Character B, even if they can't do anything by simply gripping them.
That make sense?
