Hikyou is superior to Shikamaru in stats, but Shikamaru can create and manipulate his shadow to restrain which is very useful. The thing is Hikyou has prep and Shikamaru doesn't, and if Hikyou has prep I feel like he'll be prepared for whatever Shikamaru is dishing out. Going with Hikyou.
