They retain everything Agents have to a far greater extent. With type 6 Immortality, Assimilation, and High Regen. Shikamaru very likely going to be facing more than one Smith. Smith also should scale relatively above Neo in terms of AP.

I read the agents page. They have to jump to a new body for their immortality. Can't Shikamaru just tie them up and kill them tied up to stop them from jumping to new bodies? (I haven't watched Matrix in ages lol)

I see they have 10 minutes of prep time. Do they get surface level Intel on each other or are they clueless? With no Intel Shikamarus prep time is kinda useless I think

So for the most part, Smith's tactics are engaging an opponent, while Duplicates utilize Possession on bystanders to create more Smiths.

Nice. With this I can see Shikamaru setting up some trap to take care of/bind all the Smiths.

Smiths only win con seems to be outlasting/overwhelming Shikamaru with numbers since Shikamaru can't tank his hits despite having one shot AP advantage. So it's either Shikamaru traps them all and wins or he doesn't and gets outnumbered.

Well at least with his current durability rating.
