High School D×D Discussion Thread #3

Considering Transcendental-class has included even people like Rizevim, who is several steps below Ajuka and Sirzechs, I wouldn't put Ajuka in the HD-tier just yet, considering how Sirzechs seemed to take the fight with Trihexa more casually than Issei.

For my own completely error-prone list (accounting only for currently "available" characters):

- Great Red

- Shiva

- Balberith

- Indra/Ajuka.

- Crom/Ddraig/Mahabali/Vali/REB Vidar/Issei

- Typhon/Fenrir/Thor/Vidar

Verrine, Lugh, Aten and Hades I wouldn't yet place due to lack of info, though Hades would obviously be below the Ajuka tier. Though I wonder if Lugh and Aten also went to the Isolation Barrier Field.

It says they sent their major gods, so it's plausible that Aten and Lugh are there. I mean, Shiva would have also gone if not for Brahma and Vishnu. Hades didn't go, but he's a bad guy anyway.

Also, I've been thinking on something about adult Gasper's statement. He said Gods, Super Devils, HDs, and the new generation Maou can move in his time stopped world. Super Devils are stronger than Maou-class and most gods, so it cannot simply be attributed to Gasper being weaker in this case.

And I think, if we look at the context in DxD, it's obvious that some people without certain abilities can counteract time stop, even if they're very briefly stopped, for like a moment. Like we saw in V24, Fenrir was stopped in time but he was repeatedly able to think and then break out of it. We've also seen that people stopped in time don't have any recollection of what happened when time is stopped in V4. The aspect of retaining thought process in a time stop is already classified as a resistance here, so it should only serve to support Gasper's statement.

So, what do you think?

I agree on it. I have also been thinking that maybe the widespread time stop is weaker individually compared to the targeted one. For example, in Volume 4, Gasper's targeted time stop could perfectly stop Issei in place, but his pseudo-Balance Breaker state which spread the time stop across a huge area seemingly could not stop him well enough.

With this in mind, maybe adult Gasper's "time stopped world" is weaker on the individual basis compared to targeting someone. This would make sense of how Balor Rias can stop Fenrir and Issei considered she could maybe stop him even if for an instant.

I dunno, since we're never told anything along those lines and I'm not sure we'll ever be able to tell for certain. But I don't think the Boosted Gear was activated at that time. Maybe I'll check it again. And I'd consider the forced Balance Breaker state to be better than anything normal Gasper could do at that point too.

Yeah, Rias can affect them for a moment. Though the ability should obviously have improved from when it was first shown.

So, which spin-off and short story would you like to see the most? For me, I'd go with the spin-off focusing on Millicas. As for a short story, I want to see one focusing on Gasper and Valerie's pasts in Romania.

The one with Ouryuu and Millarca is also attractive.

Ryuuta and Millarca's story is the one I'm the most interested in by far. If possible, it would be also cool to see a story narrating even a truncated version of the Great War, maybe from Azazel's perspective or from maybe Zekram.

It would be with Funanimation limited edition blurays of 4 season of anime (DxD HERO) So most likely you could only find it in torrents or buy a you own copy. If I live in USA I probably buy one, but I am not (sad)

Indeed. :(

So Star Buster is equal to combat type gods without his Balance Breaker? That's pretty crazy for someone that just mastered his Sacred Gear. Then BtB Sairaorg > BxB Star Buster, and Sairaorg isn't a Super Devil candidate yet, right? That means casual Ajuka and Rizevim can thrash combat type gods. Super Devils are pretty strong.

Also, I wish Ise had a proper God-class form. He'd have to use Pseudo DxD against any particularly strong god as of now. Even against EJOD Vali, although he'd make quick work of them anyway.

Sairaog isn't really > Star Buster-kun. Likely equal and only to his base. Just has better durability. And I already said that Rizevim at least Chief God class if not low top-10. Ise in PDxD G stronger than 99% Gods.

Likely CxC form become stronger and would be god class. Maybe after returning to true dxd g or getting AxA. He is current CxC is strong maou class.

Is it true that Shirone might take the V3 cover? Kinda disappointing if that's the case, but we could get an illustration of Kunou's beast god form.

Oh, I assumed he did so. That means he probably hasn't reached that state yet.
Who knows. In volume 25 was been stated that all Longinus users already reach Balane Breakers or beyond it. But maybe its about 13 original users not about 5 new.

Ingvild hasn't reached Balance Breaker as far as I know, so it's probably just the original thirteen. I would like it if Volume 3 has a Yasaka and Kunou shared cover.

Yes, something beyond a standard BxB.

Oh, you mean if it's always Abyss Side? I'm not sure, I don't think BtB has been described as an Abyss Side? As far as I remember, it's only Tobio, Vali, Ise, Gasper and Saji.

JD, according to Azazel, is more like a regression or alternate to BxB. The same should apply to BtB.

Things "beyond BxB" should be stuff like Abyss Side (Tobio's PTL, Vali's EJOD, Yuuto's rocket boosters and so on) and Ex side,(Triaina, both versions of DxD, etc).

Beyond BxB it's like you said: Abyss and Ex side's + subspecies + things like Breakdown the Beast, or tehniques like Kanzaki's "Transcendental Arriver" that help him active 2 Balance Breakers in same time (though it most likely his own tehnque not his Longinus.

Yeah, that's what I want too. If not, Yasaka should get the cover and then we should get an illustration of Kunou in her beast god state.

Out of all the people in the dream Chichigami showed Ise, only Yasaka and Roygun have yet to get any sort of cover appearance. This seems to be the most feasible chance for Yasaka; it's a Kyoto volume after all and Kunou got the inside cover last time.

Roygun should get the Diehauser match volume, hopefully. Ingvild already has something and I'm willing to bet she will get a solo cover appearance at some point.

What do you guys think about America prepping for the supernatural world? Maybe they can mass produce mecha to help against ExE?

Btw, I asked someone about that feat of Shooting Star's Pawn lifting and throwing a small mountain and I was told it's Class T. Since he's Ultimate-class, it can apply to Sairaorg's strongest forms and the people in the top ten. Please signify if there's any issues with this.

The attack potency would depend on the speed it was moving at, but we unfortunately weren't given a particular speed.

Maybe they could follow in the example of Asgard and also apply to some Artificial Sacred Gear research.

I read Class T and the parenthesis mentions "the heaviest of mountains". Is that referring to the upper end of Class T? If that's the case, then small mountains probably enter in the lower range and there shouldn't be an issue on it.

On the topic of attack potency. DxD characters are described on the site as Massively Hypersonic on average, so shouldn't that mountain throw at least be in the Massively Hypersonic range too if it had any chance of hitting Sairaorg's servants at all? But I don't know if such extrapolation can be applied. I'm also not a calc guy so I don't know how much force a small mountain-class mass traveling in the Massively Hypersonic range would yield, sorry.

Yes, that works as well. Also, could it be that CED Rias is now Maou-class? Ise said she could take on gods in that form, so I'm assuming he's referring to non-combat type gods. If so, I would say CDD Xenovia should be Maou-class too since she is stronger than Rias in base.

Yep, it's the upper end. I was also told that's just a guideline. The feat falls into the lower end of Class T, yeah.

It is, technically. But using that method is generally determined as calc stacking so it's unfortunately not valid to use. If it could be used, it should be quite impressive. A small mountain moving at just supersonic speeds carries energy in the megaton range, so moving at lightning speed would be quite something.

Yeah, I asked DMUA on discord if using baseline speed of lightning for the mountain might not be calc stacking since the characters scale to reacting to lightning, but he wasn't sure.

Hm, he took pathetically little damage from Gram compared to the other things we've seen.

Also, I want to make a small thread to see if Kankara Formula could be classified as math manipulation or not.

Did he resist it? It just seemed to me like an inconsistent portrayal to me. On one hand, Gram wasn't strong enough to cut through the PDxD armor without the need for several strikes, but on the other hand, its aura alone was enough to damage Issei through it without having to slice (this is accounting for Yuuto relying mostly on Gram itself for his swings, and his swing strength in his own not being particularly noted), and Issei was very wary from it without mentioning any resistance.

I ageee on the Kankara Formula thread.

Oh, I'm referring to the Pseudo DxD armour, not Ise himself. Ise's body is weak to dragon slaying, but Pseudo DxD gives him a measure of protection against it which is why Kiba was having difficulty in doing substantial damage to the armour.

From what I remember: the aura initially just gave Ise chills through the armour. It's noted several times that Gram can only create small cracks on the armour, just that the aura was passing through it which isn't strange since Gram's aura has passed into dragons like that before. Even then, I don't think the aura alone was doing substantial damage; Ise just said it would be dangerous if the aura continued to seep through the armour like that.

For the Kankara Formula thread, you should post your opinion there ----> https://vsbattles.com/vsbattles/2887931

I just re-read, and Issei made reference to the chill only when he clashed Ascalon against Gram.

When he first got actually hit by it, he described it as a "strong impact" and producing "a pain difficult to express". Later on when he was being attacked continuously, he described it as an "unbearably intense pain".

But then again, he did describe the fact that Gram didn't pierce the PDxD armor as "important information", so it's very possible the PDxD armor has dragon slaying resistance.

All of this info I acquired via google translate, though, so it's better to take it with a grain of salt.

Yeah, the armour. I got mine through Google Translate too.

Ah, I'm a bit surprised that Rose with Mistelteinn has better offensive power than Akeno since she doesn't specialise in that area.

Mistelteinn is an item used by God-class beings after all. If she wasn't superior to Akeno with it then Brynhildr would have been really underwhelming in retrospect, despite being supposedly the strongest Valkyrie.
