We've seen older models get overcharged. Not to mention that his durability has increased ever since and he has a far superior arsenal. High 7-A iron man's suit is also made of the Wakandian metal the name I've forgotten. Pretty sure it did well with electricity.

And we saw during EG that lightning can still effect his suit

Even if iron man does get affected by lightning it was shown that the overcharge doesn't specifically harm him, in fact he could to the good ol switcheroo and boost his own attack with it.
