High 7-A REBirth Tournament Round 3 (Xiao vs Deku)

rOfUD6o.png

"Little Hero, you fought brave and valiantly. You have earned yourself a quiet rest.
I must say, this was a beautiful clash of will and spirit,
worthy of this sacred arena. Come with me
oh wondrous soul, i am interested in the tales of your upstanding life."

"Xiao, Anemoni Adepti and Yaksha, the Patroness of Will hereby declares you victorious.
Take this honor to your heart for I granted it to you. But humble yourself, the road
to the peaks is filled with challenges. You climbed the mountain, but can you reach the stars?

Analytical Prediction
  • First off, Naito is right. You don't need resistance to Analytical Prediction to overwhelm it. That's not how Analytical Prediction works. It's not hax, just a form of intelligence. All it does is tell us that the character who has it has the ability to analyze the fighting styles of their opponents.
Deku's analytical prediction has to my knowledge never let him close the gap against a far superior martial artist, which Xiao would be in this scenario. Every thrust and swing from Xiao's spear is dangerous, and Deku sensing the attacks coming is no different from what he can plainly see, so he'd still be overwhelmed because he'd easily get led around by Xiao's superior skill. For Deku's analytical prediction to make any difference against Xiao, Deku needs feats of having understood high-level martial exchanges between spear wielders, and he's never even fought a spear-user before, so how would he have this understanding? Analytical prediction doesn't grant any more knowledge than the character already has, so yes, assuming it works on Xiao's fighting style in this case is NLF.
Stamina:
  • Xiao's sole duty in life is to hunt demons. Even when he's not actually fighting them, he's constantly on the watch for them. So even if not physically taxed, he is definitely mentally so. Combine this with the never-ending physical and mental strain of his karma, the fact that his karma only gets worse over time, and the fact that this has kept up for about 2000 years, his stamina far outclasses Deku. Even when he's not fighting, his body is still strained because of his karma, which brings him to his knees in pain every time it gets worse, only for him to have to get used to it because the pain doesn't go away. Fighting for days on end is nothing compared to that.
Mobility:
Ranged Attacks:
  • Black Whip isn't strong enough to stop Xiao, since he can just cut through it with Anemo and it's not like he can't just phase out of it by turning into wind.
  • Shockwaves can't stop Xiao, who has the AP advantage and can just charge right through it with Wind Cycling, or block it outright with an Anemo forcefield.
  • Smokescreens are useless because Xiao can blow it away the instant he sees it show up. Seriously, this guy's a wind-user. At what point did anyone think he couldn't just blow it away with a lot of wind?
Flight:
  • Most gods can fly, or at least are capable of staying far out of melee range, and as the strongest Yaksha and likely the second strongest Adeptus, Xiao would've fought against plenty of flying opponents. Especially considering there are weaker enemies than demons that can also fly just fine. Unless you're saying Xiao would get done in by Cicins (elemental bats), Float would pose no threat Xiao hasn't already dealt with before. Xiao isn't all melee. He can just as easily snipe Deku out of the air with Anemo spears, wind bursts, or even fling his own spear, since he can just recall it instantly if it misses.
Voting Xiao.

This was already deemed as a stomp in Xiao favor since Deku High 7-A stuff only last for some minutes, there is no need to vote anymore.
