Goten and Trunks fight an old enemy (0-6-0) (ONE MORE FOR GRACE)

I know we can't really use this info for the debate but if Cell comes back and kills one of them the other probably gets SSJ2 lol
 
If Cell can choose when to regenerate, while pretending to be down, then yeah, he can certainly stall Gotenks until they defuse and then kill them both

But that wouldn't make sense, after when Gohan vaporized him with the kamehameha wave, with that logic, Cell would just come back to stomp him some more.

Gohan specifically destroyed every last cell in Cell's body, which is why Cell died. Cell would regen any damage that isn't literally evaporating every last piece of Cell

It was not.
If Cell was going for the kill, then why it allow Goku to retire from the battle and tag out with Gohan? An argument could be made if Cell pushed the battle further, only for Gohan to interrupt Cell and take over the fight, but Cell let Goku exit the fight. Rather counterintuitive, no?

The only time Cell actually went in for the kill was when it was getting overpowered by Gohan.

Having each and every one of your cells eradicated is not quite the same as being knocked out.

In order to incapacitate someone with blunt force (i.e., a punch) or an otherwise concussive force (i.e., Energy Blast), you would need to strike them hard enough to jolt the sinus in the carotid artery, briefly cutting off the blood and oxygen flow to the brain. However, as you would expect, this will not exactly work on someone who can regenerate from having their upper torso erased, their middle-right torso erased, and their entire body blown to smithereens.

Or maybe I'm applying too much real world logic. Maybe.

Cell does not like people being stronger than it, and it is already in the mood to murder Goten and Trunks. So, unlike when it fought Gohan, the thought of this potential fusion even being close to it in power would send Cell into a frenzy.

Why would Cell get bored? It had plenty of fun ragging on Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, defenseless civilians, and Earth's Military. Never mind the fact that Cell is naturally sadistic, having inherited this trait from Frieza, the man notorious for reveling in the pain of far weaker lifeforms.

It is not a matter of, "Can Gotenks recreate the power of the Father-Son Kamehameha;" it is a matter of "Will he?"

Gotenks has proven himself time and time again to be an irresponsible, childish dunce who prefers to be flashy and wacky rather than productive. He blew Super Buu to smithereens with the Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack but only went back to try and incinerate the remaining chunks after Piccolo told him to. He knocked Buu around a lot and launched plenty of destructive attacks at him, but most of them either missed and ended up harming the planet instead or just did not do the job.

Eventually, Gotenks will wear himself out picking on Cell and being a cocky ****, and Cell'll murder two kids.
 
But anyways, Cell FRA, if the kids fuse, then it's a hard stomp
 
Wait, didn't Goten and Trunks get stronger after training in the HBTC? I thought they had a 50x increase from it

Gohan thought that Goten was unironically really close to his own power level as a Super Saiyan before the Tournament even began. After the HBTC his Power Exploded, so yes he's arguably stronger in Base than his Previous SSJ Transformation.

Post HTC Goten and Trunks are around CG Teen Gohan's level though

Cell would probably tell Goten and Trunks "Enough with the warmups" and let them fuse, and his inner saiyan would make him wanna fight Goten and Trunks at their best to fuel his thirst for battle, pride, curiosity of what the kin of Goku and Vegeta could do combined, Frieza's genes would also make him wanna demoralize them. I think more likely than not they eventually end up fusing.

Then Goten stomps since he would scale to 97.5 Kilotenatons while Cell only scales to 1.95 Kilotenatons
 
If gotenks doesn’t immediately obliterate, cell can just halt his regen to stay small, and with a small ki. Then he just camps out
 
If pre-RoSaT Goten is Low 4-C in base and High 4-C as a Super Saiyan, then post-RoSaT Goten being stronger than pre-RoSaT SSJ Goten in base would be a tier jump — just an FYI.
 
I think I'm more inclined to give this one to Cell. Since he has previous knowledge of the Fusion technique, I think even he would be smart enough not to take such a risk, even for the sake of a good battle, and would just target both Goten and Trunks. On the chance that they do fuse, I believe Gotenks would fool around with Cell, and even if they do easily destroy Cell, he'd probably just regrow his body and gain a Zenkai boost.

And with my vote, grace can start.
