God of War: Ragnarok Discussion Thread

Hercules by default.

He's one of two GoW III bosses I played on my friend's console (the other was Hermes), and he was tough as nails at first.

I played other games, but I can't recall the fights well enough.

Yeah Ares is easily gave me the most trouble, and it's not because of Ares himself (Honestly the direct fights with him were pretty easy imo) but those god damned clones. Like holy shit that entire section just kicked my ass and as a kid it took me forever to get through it.

Surprised y'all struggled with clones swction More than gow 3 zeus being honest
That part is shorter, against an opponent with a more limited arsenal and you're not balancing an escort mission on top of it.

Zeus situation is a bit easier since you can uppercut him and cheese the grab move to finish the fight faster.

BTW, Obi noticed something with Heimdall.

Turns out, Heimdall's profile is wrong about his Realm Shifting. He doesn't need the Hilt of Hofud to do it, hell, he doesn't even have the Sword in the final phase of the boss fight.

And yes, it's in the base game (NG+ came out in April 2023).

I should note however, since this happens in his final stage, it would likely be when Heimdall is severely bloodlusted. Wouldn't be an opening move for him for sure.

Actually, it looks more like he's doing it after he's healed his severed arm with the bifrost. So it seems likely that he's doing it with the bifrost.

Man can wield Bifrost as a power source to amp stats. Controlling Bifrost is an innate capability of him. Hilt of Hofud is also largely designated to operate with Bifrost.

Eh, not like it'll matter in the long run. Point is, it deals with more space-time fuckery than DB could ever hope to achieve. Plus it's support for the Realms being separate space-time continuums. Not that it needs to, Vanir Magic and Realm Time fuckery will tell you everything.

Actually, I was wrong.

Turns out, Heimdall never used the Hilt to begin with. The Hilt just has it as an extra. It's all Heimdall, even his activation animation is the same throughout, difference is in the second leg, he has the Sword, because Kratos hadn't disarmed him yet. Basically, the moment he feels threatened, he starts going gung-ho with it.

But it's just a range, and he's only doing it through a hax. So it's actually doing this physical phenomenon in a space-time range with a "hax." I don't really agree this giving AP.
Well we usually give hax like this AP so what do I know.

End of the day, doesn't matter. The range is still there, the space-time fuckery is there and the Realm is still physically moved all the same.

Kind of weird to have each realm as a whole Low 2-C space-time continuum when we just walk around a tiny-ass island and/or region in each one.

To be frank they never let you go beyond Nyx's temple in her mirror dimension of eternal night either

Probably, we never find out what happened to them. Hell, Apollo is never once shown physically.
Weird that Apollo is the sun god yet so is Helios

It makes you wonder...if Helios is killed...then why does the sun die? Isn't Apollo still there to pick up the slack for the dead titan?
