General Godzilla Discussion

And soft of? As far as the novel is concerned, Godzilla himself IS part of Iwi mythology and I guess centuries ago he drove the apes and Iwi into retreat after beating them but you can also imply that it's in reference to the titan war

Alright I did decide to read that specific passage and yes your interpretation was right so I apologize. Yeah basically at some point, before even the Skullcrawlers drew Kong's species to near extinction, Godzilla fought against Kong's species and drive them into retreat though not for enslavement IIRC because I don't think that part was ever mentioned

Honestly this has gotten me curious, I really want to now do an in depth look into the strength between Godzilla vs Kong because people involved in the movie have different views on the subject

Speaking of the hollow earth, and on topic about that war between Godzilla and Kong's species, was Godzilla just sleeping during that whole conflict or did he participate?
I believe DangerVille mentioned that Godzilla was defeated by a Kong during the war and that the skull in Kong’s lair was a Goji (big boi judging by the skull)
If we do get that inevitable Kong Hollow Earth movie, I can see them introducing titans that never left the hollow earth
I think so too, it makes no sense to not world build with Kaiju and stuff that live below
I would not be surprised if Gorosaurus was the next antagonist for Kong.
he’s definitely an underrated GOAT (his only scene in Destroy all Monsters is spanking Ghidorah) and it’s been nearly 20 years since we had a good Kong vs Dinosaur battle (yes you are old)

Kongs became smart and really humane and started hunting everywhere and even enslaving monsters... And so Godzilla chose violence and went full genocide run on them, or so i heard.
That was actually a rumour. Basically what I believe happened was that the Kongs actually decided to start a war against Godzilla believing him to be evil. Eventually someone broke a taboo (not sure what is meant by that) so the Kongs has to leave the Hollow Earth for Skull Island where they were killed by the Skullcrawlers. What’s interesting though is that Goji may have been in the right judging by this cave painting that shows the G man and Mothra fighting a Kong and a Skulkcrawler.

What’s also interesting is that this could be why the Skullcrawlers killed all the Kongs. Perhaps out of revenge for losing the war.

Also I’d like to fix something I said previously, Kong doesn’t care for humans only certain ones (much like Godzilla arguably). This is seen in GVK when he throws a jet at Godzilla with no care for what would happen to the guy inside as well as in K:SI when he kills all the people in the helicopters (although they did provoke him but so did Apex to Godzilla). So the only Titan who I suspect actually cares for all humanity and not just certain individuals is Mothra (what a surprise).

Also IDK if any of you guys cared to know this, but here's the official text detailing Godzilla's battle with Kong's ancestors in the hollow earth and before you ask yes Zo-Zla-halawa is the Iwi's name for Godzilla.
If anyone else wants something from either the GvK, Skull Island or KoTM novels I'll see what I can dig up
Thanks for the scan

It's probably from the perspective of the Iwi, because as far as I'm concerned Godzilla doesn't really go around picking fights with other Titans unless it's for the sake of domination or they're threatening the balance of things

Actually Greg Keyes stated that this refers to a Godzilla-like creature, but might not be Godzilla himself.
