Hello. I'm here to bring up the fact that Jellal is being listed as 5A. He got this feat by blocking an attack from dragon-form Acnologia - but human-form Acnologia is also 5A.
August previously stomped Jellal with minimal effort, yet is 6A. Jellal received no upgrades in between the two battles - if anything, he was more exhausted while fighting Acnologia. He previously went down from a single hit from Neinhart, who is also 6A.
If Jellal is 5A, then Irene and August, who are stated to be equals, should be on this level as well, as both are capable of stomping him, which August proved. This, however, leaves the nonsense that is the Neinhart scenario, which leads me to believe one simple thing: Acnologia was messing around. The attack Jellal stopped was nothing. It was already stated previously that Acnologia views humans as insects, and does not go all out against them. I feel as though Jellal should be removed from 5A and left in 6A, as he lacks any other feats to put him on such a high level, and that level itself is inconsistent with his showing.
This would also put the Fairy Tail character Gears down to 6A, as he scales to Jellal.
A counter-argument would be that Laxus, who is a genuine 5A, seemed to consider Jellal an opponent worth being serious against - but this can be due to the pure hype Jellal has. Laxus has never seen the man fight for real, and is unaware of his limits. In the future, it's entirely possible for Jellal to be considered 5A, but that would be his current self, not the version of him that faced Acnologia - the same version that got stomped by August. I mean, his strongest spell is flat-out stated by Erza, in no uncertain terms, to be a weaker version of Irene's, yet look how much higher he is shown to scale. It doesn't make sense.
