...I would suspect Omni secrectly stretch their mental sense of time, so that day seemingly act like months, giving people time to digest the news and be numb with it, along with some other method. Otherwise, no world would last when facing this kind of suddenness...or perhaps someone else, different from us and Omni, actually done that for the world in secret
