No, this was just filler added into the anime so no upgrades.

Wasn't filler in the Fairy Tail anime considered once to be canon? I recall one arc being referenced in the manga on later chapters. And shouldn't this be considered at least for an anime canon/version?

I don't know if it's all considered canon but yes i do remember an arc being canon or something but don't think that applies to this one.

I'll look around for any references to this then. I'll check for it since it doesn't seem unbelievable that he's mountain level after the second timeskip. After all he did get a mountain level calc too.
