Dragon Ball Super Discussion Thread 100

Oh they mentioned he survived Frieza's super nova attack... yet used the cannon version of the calc instead of the Toei anime one
The Bardock they're using is a mix of canon and Toei, it makes more sense for them to use the canon version of the feat since it's the most relevant/up-to-date version

I don't really agree. If there using sources of multiple versions they should actually do that, they aren't making a new character, there just using multiple sources for feats, they should have just used the stronger one.

Funny thing is they didn't downplay bardock, they just got different results for those feats compared to ours and used the cannon destruction of planet vegeta for base bardock too and ginyu scaling too

The problem is they wanked Omni-Man despite outliers

Nah they downplayed.

One example is everyone who has calced King Vegeta's hand wave, consistently, got it to small star - star level. But there in a nice big comparison to Viltrum, is put at Large planet level.

And Planet Vegeta's destruction purposely didn't use Toei's version, which got insanely higher results.

They also didn't mention that Saiyans don't have as much stamina issues when they have a full tail (See GT for when Goku can keep SSJ3 without any problem).

Among others.

It's a mix of downplay and upscaling the character, Bardock is trillions of times faster than what we have him at currently for both Toei and canon

Agreed

If they're using both the Toei and Canon versions then there's no reason to use the older one than the newer one other than getter a higher number (then again using a mix of Toei and Canon scaling is already weid, but it's the route they took so)

What did you think of the Bardock vs Omni Man video? from Death Battle
Good editing, decent animation (faces and mouths are wonky but decent combat, def far from their best though). Character dialogue was mid too.

Powerscaling wise, complete dogshit. Massively wanked Omni-Man giving him the absolute best feats statements and scaling that could be reasonably mustered for him, while giving Bardock pretty much the bare minimum albeit very questionable speed scaling which I imagine they only did because they didn't want it to be "unfair". And without addressing details about how Invincible characters travel through space that are explained in a guide book they mention in the very same video.

Tbh Omni-Man peaks at like multi-continent-moon level with rel+-FTL+ combat speed and MFTL+ travel speed in spaceflight. Even arguing that he's faster than Bardock, due to the "splat" thing with Invincible characters he'd literally crumple like paper hitting Bardock who comfortably reaches large planetary in base.

Also why tf is the Viltrum feat given such credit. People forget; first off, it was destabilized by Space Racer, making it easier to destroy, second, it was a chain reaction via destroying the core, third, it required a planned, synchronized attack utilizing gathered accelerated force between 3 high tier Viltrumites.

And most importantly, they literally SAY that if they mess up the timing, they would die on impact with the planet.

I genuinely have no idea how people think Omni-Man's base AP is anywhere remotely near planetary. If he tried to blow up Viltrum that way on his own he would literally die and fail without doing any particularly significant damage to the planet's structure, by the character's own explanations.

Everytime you point that out, instead of refutes you'll either get excuses or insults, if not both.

That's been my experience so far.

Invincible verse in powerscaling is difficult because it's a verse where the authors tried to sound all scientific for immersion but when you actually think about it for 2 seconds it makes no sense in real world application. The Smart Atoms thing being the most egregious of all. And because they try to actually incorporate some physics jargon into the mix it makes the actual feats and statements a lot harder to estimate. Most verses are very upfront about feats.

"So-and-so can destroy a planet because he big strong"-Normal verse.

"Well uhm so-and-so uses the combined acceleration of speeds exceeding the light barrier and uh random McGuffin power physics thing to uh destabilize the core of the planet and explode it via a chain reaction!! 🤓"-Invincible verse

Also apparently they're redoing Master Chief Vs. Doomguy...why?? A strand of Doomguy's pubic hair is superior to Chief at this point.

What's funny is that Bardock should've won even with the wank since King Vegeta's feat was also calced to Star

It shouldn't have been eligible for a rematch in the first place. The first time it was fair because the characters were not that far apart in power. But now the gap is so big it's pretty much literally infinite. Doomguy neg-diffs the entire Halo verse while sleeping.
It can't be that ba-holy shit VSBW wanks the **** out of Doomguy

How? Davoth didn't have his powers when he fought Doomguy.
Yes, he did. It was stated outright that Davoth, upon receiving a physical form again, would unlock his original power. Davoth never lost his strength, it was just that he couldn't use it because his essence was contained within a sphere, making him effectively a ghost. Upon receiving a vessel again, he returned to his original strength, wherein it was stated that in that form, only another Primevil being or something of equivalent power could stop him. He also literally outright says that he will destroy all of reality after beating the Doomslayer.

How does that make his power "stolen" then?

I think Low 5-B is pretty fair since iirc that calc is based on the actual size of the impact created.

I recently heard the claim that most of dragonball's death battle wins were largly wrong, anyone here have an opinion on this? I know 18 vs caption marvel is a big one, shadow vs vegeta is... early deathbattle stuff but I don't know much to speak on the others so what do you think?

Carol probably beats 18 due to Marvel scaling

Broly beating Hulk is just wrong

Megatron can be argued to beat Frieza if you use some more extended canon

Some people will say Galaxia beats Beerus (I don't know, Sailor Moon is out of my knowledge base)

Checking all of Death Battle's Dragon Ball wins:
  • Roshi beats Jiraiya and pretty much all of Naruto
  • Mister Satan blitzes Dan Hibiki
  • Frieza beats the versions of Megatron they used but the fact that they used a Semi-Composite that specifically left out the strongest Megatron is sus
  • Beerus vs Sailor Galaxia is debatable
  • They were definitely right on Vegito beating Gogeta

Carol vs 18, Shadow vs Vegeta, and especially Hulk vs Broly were wrong though.
