MKIceAndFire just uploaded gameplay of DOOM Eternal, and it shows him meeting the betrayer.

This right here just shoots down the theory that the Slayer and Betrayer are one, which just raises more questions than answers according to the codex in DOOM 2016.

(Personal Theory) Since the betrayer says that the slayer is trying to save his people, I think the betrayer was the first Doom Slayer.
