This blog aims to be the workspace for the Composite Adventurer page that will be made for D&D. The idea for this is to replace the Wizard page since that page makes no sense. Now then. Let's go over some stuff.

  • This page has all of the abilities of all canon classes. Prestige classes and the like are also accepted. This includes all bard spells, wizard spells, cleric spells, etc.
  • This page is assumed to be the very peak of each level, having all abilities of all classes at that level.
  • This page is assumed to also have all feats available to them at that level.
  • This page will make assumptions on the species of the character- as in, various species maintain advantages (Elves not being able to fall asleep, Centaurs and their immense strength boosts, etc) and this should be accounted for somehow.
  • Finally, this page is assumed to have all equipment available to them at the appropriate level (for example, gaining access to what is referred to as "mid-level" gear starting at Level 5).
Tiering and Stats
The page should have many tiers, obviously. Until I hear back from Azzy about potential low-tier upgrades, the tiering should look something like this:

Tier: 9-B | 9-A | High 8-C | Low 7-B, 6-B via prep time | Varies from High 6-A to 5-B | 2-C | 2-A

Wall level:
First level. Comparable to beings capable of using Burning Hands, among others.

Small Building level: Starts at 5th level. Comparable to beings capable of using Fireball, among others.

Large Building level: Starts at 9th level. Comparable to beings capable of using Dawn, among others.

Small City level+: Starts at 13th level. Comparable to beings on the level of Legendary Dragons, who can generate magic storms

Country level: Prep time as of 17th level. Comparable to high-end spells such as Ice Age, among others.

Varies from Multi-Continent level to Planet level: Avatars are shown to have several feats on this level, including scaling above the Abomination that can heat the core of a world and the Leviathan, which can utterly destroy the planet by its awakening.

Low Multiverse level: Lesser deities are on this level and scale to several feats of maintaining control over multiple infinite places. Demon lords are a good example.

Multiverse level+: Greater deities scale to Mystra, who caused immense damage throughout the infinite multiverse via her death- including the total disintegration of several universes and badly damaging others.

Now, for tiering. Udlmaster may be able to assist in seeing if the Mystara setting ever makes mention of players being able to ascend to the rank of Immortal. If so, the Adventurer would also have a tier of "At least High 2-A, possibly higher" due to the dimensional setting of that reality. Speed is much simpler. For the Wall level tier, we would be Subsonic, scaling to adventurers being able to dodge point blank arrows. For the Small Building level to Planet level tiers, we would be High Hypersonic, scaling to several classes being able to dodge Lightning to an even greater capacity. For the Low Multiverse to Multiverse level tiers, we would be Infinite, scaling to the time gods below them.

Now let's get into the really wonky shit.

Abilities
And here is where we fall apart. It is well known D&D has a mass amounts of abilities at whatever tier, namely the ability to resist tons of various different hax ranging from One Hit Kill to Fate Hax to Mind Manip and more. That said, not only would they resist these abilities, this page would also have these abilities. Or most of them, at least. So compiling abilities and spells that fall under them will be a paramount part of making this page.

It is with this in mind I intend to create a blog immediately after this with a list of every spell or ability in the game (eventually) and what power it would classify as. General ones might not be applicable (stuff like, say, Die Hard feat, or pretty much all of the skills). But some feats would certainly be considered- proficiencies in weapons obviously lean into Weapon Mastery, several class features from classes like Monk or Barbarian lend in to actual legitimate abilities.

So yeah. That blog can be found here.

Nope. Though it'll affect my work there, too.

> if the Mystara setting ever makes mention of players being able to ascend to the rank of Immortal.

Uh, you're expected to be able to ascend in Mystara. Once you reach max level, do a special quest, and get a sponser any PC can become an Immortal. The entire last secrion of Mystara is dedicated to an Immortal campagin/party.

In fact every single Immortal was once human who ascended, with no exceptions. Some are just so impossibly old that they can't remember being mortal.

> This page has all of the abilities of all canon classes. Prestige classes and the like are also accepted. This includes all bard spells, wizard spells, cleric spells, etc.

Including Psionics? You mad man.

Awww, I'm a D&D guy <3

Also, if you want, we can try and split all of the work into Editions, have a person or persons work on said edition then give a massive report here, I'm pretty invested into 3 and 3.5e so I don't mind doing that.

Wish is causality manipulation

Necromancy is a seperate ability but non physical interaction is also legit

Luck Manipulation isn't a thing it's just a type of probabability manipulation

Anti-Magic is power nullificiation

other than that, seems fine.

Also if we're including Immortals it probably should look like

Tier: 9-B | 9-A | High 8-C | Low 7-B, 6-B via prep time | Varies from High 6-A to 5-B | 2-C | 2-A | High 2-A, possibly higher | At least 1-C, possibly High 1-B

Made kinda in a rush.

Also, isn't Wish Reality Warping? As it can alter reality itself is many ways.

As well, "Alter Reality" feat says "Like the Wish spell, except as a free action"

The user can redirect any cause to any effect, undo anything by inverting the relation cause/effect, or even separate them entirely, making a specific effect impossible to be caused or a specific cause not producing any effect.

Most magic is reality warping in verse. Wish is causality manipulation.

In OD&D it was originally called "Alter Reality" as well:

In 2e: "Alters the past, present, or future to cause a wish to come true. The caster may wish to erase an unfortunate adventure, for instance, or may get a clue to a powerful item or great treasure. Wishes must be careful: the referee may grant a wish in such a way as to kill or handicap a character."

3e: "Wish is the mightiest spell a wizard or sorcerer can cast. By simply speaking aloud, you can alter reality to better suit you."

4e: Doesn't exist, it was removed.

5e: Wish is the mightiest spell a mortal creature can cast. By simply speaking aloud, you can alter the very foundations of reality in accord with your desires.

@Yobobojojo An Adventurer varies in strength depending on their level. The keys would either represents levels or various ascended forms that they could reach.

Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers are composite profiles, but have different keys. But if there's only one key allowed then it'd probably be "At least 1-C, possibly High 1-B". Or at the very least, they'd need a key for their mortal, God, Immortal, and Old One state.

Okay, for reference, there are 4911 different spells in 3.5e alone.

In total there would be 24,117,921 different variations.

If we add feats: 72,573,361

If we add classes and races: 91,221,601 different variations for just one profile.

You forgot about Psionics unless they were included in that number.

Also, I didn't add in the different things in which the class can change, for example in the Psionic class, you can have 1 of 6~ type of powers.

In the Arcivist you can choose a Dark Knowledge.

In the Master of Masks class you can choose different masks to have and use.

Maybe this profile would be a good one to try out citations for? Each citation could say the spell, and edition/book the ability comes from.

Thing is, there's TOO many spells, as shown above, there's 4911 different spells in 3.5e alone. To cite 1 spell per ability, it would take too much work, even more work than before.

Also, if you've seen a heavily cited profile, it looks too cluttered, giving an exmaple is enough.

Let me explain the keys.

Leveling up. At base, the character starts at 9-B and can eventually achieve the aforementioned 1-C, possibly High 1-B. It's a progression thing.

Done.

As for spells... we could have a rather large Notable Attacks/Techniques page, really. With a tabber it wouldn't be terrible.

I'd prefer listing the abilities but not notable attacks. Like, there's like, 50 spells that count as mind manipulation, but only one that counts as causality manipulation.

I was gonna comment that 5-B seems partially underserved cor mortal characters, but then I remembered that you fight and kill a sentient planet in 4e. Guess the Avatars/Leviathan are just higher on the 5-B scale.

resistance/immunity negation (Via the Paladin's truth feat which can be gotten at level 21+ When a paladin attacks a target of there divine chalange power, there attacks ignore the target's resistance and immunities.)
