Lugia's current high-end tier is based on this calc, which yielded 11.46 teratons for Lugia's "wing flaps cause forty-day storm" feat. However, another calc was previously done here using a different method which yielded only 458.891 megatons. Since we have two calcs for the same feat with very different methods and findings, and since Lugia's tier is based on the latter, we should evaluate both of these and see which one is more reliable. If the latter calc is found more reliable, Lugia will need downgraded back to Island level.

  • Chaos's calc just assumes a regular thunderstorm.
  • Tacocat's calc assumes a tropical typhoon, along with measuring wind speeds of said storm and stuff
Considering that tropical typhoons only occur at the sea/oceans, and Lugia primarily resides at an ocean/Whirl Islands, it is likely that Lugia produced a tropical storm via flapping his wings.

In any case, I prefer Tacocat's calcultion.

Okay, then. Though to be fair, that sounds like highballing. Sure, it'd make sense for the storm to be a hurricane, but not every storm out at sea is a hurricane, or even necessarily a particularly strong storm.

Would any other members of the calc group be willing to judge this?

Neither calc seems flawed mathematically, but Tacocat's seems to be the more accurate method, as Chaos' seems to be the energy output of a 40-day thunderstorm whereas Tacocat's both uses a tropical typhoon (which seems more accurate giving settings and circumstances), as well as actually getting the energy Lugia itself would be exerting.

Also a non related question is Lugia durability correct? because Mew and Mewtwo have semi-similar durability to him.
