Them clashing was a major plot point in the Adventures manga, as it is the reason the pokedex holders (the main characters) were turned into stone. Scales to Cresselia for obvious reasons.

I'm afraid I haven't read all the way through Adventures, but I don't think this is outrageous given the fact that Darkrai is also a Legendary Pokemon and has major advantages against Mewtwo in a 1v1. That said, does Darkrai have any other feats to to corroborate this?

Guy has a handful of tier 2 scaling feats (most involving Dialga and Palkia, one that doesn't), and is probably the embodiment of the new moon. Tier 2 feats are outliers. Not sure about being the moon. However, nothing in tier 6.

I have a proposal for Darkrai and Cresselia's Attack Potency in mind. I will post them here.

  • Attack Potency: At least Small Country level, possibly Country level (Battled Mewtwo one-on-one in the Pokemon Adventures manga)
  • We would also need to provide scans of Darkrai battling Mewtwo, and add them to the Attack Potency description, as it would provide more solid proof.
As for Cresselia...

  • Attack Potency: At least Small Country level, possibly Country level (Darkrai's direct counterpart in the series, the latter who was able to battle Mewtwo one-on-one)
Thoughts? Btw, this only works if Mewtwo's tiering is set in stone.

So, what is happening in the above picture, with Silver, Leaf, Yellow, and Gary? Did they get petrified/turned to stone or something?

Huh, I can swear that it was the clash between Deoxys and Mewtwo instead... (Although, its been a long time since I read it, so I doubt I remember all of the details correctly.)

I'll re-read the FR and LG arcs I guess, but til then, if Darkrai was the one, then I'll support the upgrade whole-heartedly.

Indeed, when did Darkrai Fight Mewtwo?? Mewtwo fought Deoxys and the pokedex holders turned to stone after that.

Also getting concerned with the cross scaling between media.

Pokedex holders turned to stone when Sird released a beam (that was later revealed to be Darkrai) at Deoxys to capture him. Mewtwo clashes with that beam, and the resulting...result turned the Pokedex Holders to stone. In retaliation, Mewtwo chased Sird all the way to Sinnoh in vengeance.

  • What is the chapter number that thai feat happened in?
  • This series happened in the Pokemon adventures manga, correct?
I just need to double check and post more pictures of this specific feat if neccesary.

For the first thing, I don't know. Likely towards the end of the FrLg chapter. For the second, yes. The Pokémon adventures manga.

@Aizen

That is an issue with Pokemon profiles. Maybe we should just make them all composite...

@Lina and cal

You can't tell it's Darkrai here, but this is chapter where Darkrai turns the Pokedex Holders to stone.

I'd say it scales. Though, I'm not sure if it would scale from Mewtwo in general or just Manga Mewtwo. Anything would be better than the Unknown rating we have on him right now

@Reppuzan, there is a problem if we make them composite, that being that scaling would get really hard (For example Darkrai's Ap from scaling to Mewtwo would state he's scaled to Mewtwo, but composite Mewtwo would far exceed Darkrai's stats)

There's a difference between canon composite (Adventures, Anime, Main Games) and complete composite (Conquest, Mystery Dungeon, Pocket Monsters Manga, Trozeii, Rumble, Pokken)

I don't see why scaling between the canon parts of the series would be a problem, the legendaries have supposedly all taken part in the same major events throughout history and prehistory, and have had the same age and time to grow, in almost all universes (otherwise the manga and anime regions would have been shaped very differently from the game regions), the only major differences being in various recent events, and as such should have had the same or similar amounts of growth as their counterparts in other universes.

Though I guess as a recently created legendary, Mew-two might be the exception to this

Wait how is Darkrai fighting Sealed Dialga and Palkia an outlier? iirc the anime has multiple darkrai each with different levels of strength that have no connection to each other. Wouldnt that suggest Darkrai having multiple keys?

Nope. This is due to that Darkrai being no different than any other darkrai. However, Mystery Dungeon Darkrai my have some good feats such as corrupting Dialga.

Dragonmasterxyz wrote Nope. This is due to that Darkrai being no different than any other darkrai.

Really? Because the anime has showcased Darkrai on multiple occasions such as the one that fought Cresselia on that island, the one Trollbias had in the sinnoh league, the one that showed up in XYZ to give Pikachu, Meowth and Squishy nightmares, etc. I thought it was a diff Darkrai due to the one from Alamos Town being shown to remain in that town during the credits of the Sinnoh movies. But if so then nvm

Ohhh. Then would that even matter? Even if they have the same abilities it wouldnt neccesarily mean they have the same level of strength. For instance, Alamos Darkrai could be tier 2 while Sinnoh League Darkrai is like what, tier 7 or 8 depending on the tiers of the gym leaders and the trainers who beat them?

Darkrai is a 3D being created by the creation or lake trio as part of the universe, so it possessing 4D powers and physiology wouldn't make sense.

@Anime4Life

It can't be considered canon as it is not inherent to the game itself, being a promotional add-on. Furthermore, Darkrai's faceoff against Dialga and Palkia in the movie is an incredible outlier given that other, much weaker Pokemon, were able to harm him.

@Cal

I'm for it (given that it's his best, reliable feat), but does anyone else agree?

@Rep

The sad thing is, Darkrai actually has more Low 2-C feats.

Namely fighting the protagonist of Mystery Dungeon, who defeated both Primal Dialga and Palkia.

Not saying it's legit, just wanted to point out that he sadly has multiple Low 2-C feats.

Im sorry, when was this? As far as i remember Darkrai was handily beating them. It practically put almost every pokemon in Alamos Town under nightmares without even trying.

@TE: What are the nature of those Low 2-C feats? Were they done via reality-warping/hax, or were they done by an actual attack?

However, we can give Darkrai the rating

Considering that we are allowed to have anti-feats for a character, we can consider the Darkrai being hurt by the much weaker Pokemon as anti-feats, as Darkrai is capable of show much greater strength most of the time.

Hopefully this will solve the issue in regards to Darkrai's numerous Low 2-C feats. I will write up an explanation about why Darkrai being hurt by the weaker Pokemon would be considered an anti-feat.

I don't know how I feel about the Low 2-C stat, especially since its coming from the most inconsistent Pokemon media, not to mention this only happened once.

@Lina

Darkrai has been consistently shown to clash with Dialga and Palkia in the anime and the spin-offs.

In the anime, Darkrai took on both Dialga and Palkia at the same time, blasting them backwards with Dark Pulse, absorbing their signature attacks with Dark Void, and shielding the area from the collateral from their battle (which was causing the town to become disconnected from the rest of space-time.

In the Mystery Dungeon series, Darkrai managed to fight Dialga, make him go insane, and cause Dialga to nearly destroy the space-time continuum. He also later survived a surprise attack from Palkia, albeit with amnesia.

However, in the same movie, Darkrai was sufficiently weakened to the point of almost losing consciousness after fighting Alamos' Town's local Pokemon.

Coincidentally, I have no opinion on the low 2-C stats (coincidential because I started this thread), but Darkrai also planned to merge two worlds in Pokepark 2 from what I've heard.

We should treat the feat where Darkrai fought the Town's local Pokemon as an anti-feat then, as the majority of Darkrai's feats are that of Universe level+ in scale.

@Reppuzan other than the anime movie, when has Darkrai clashed with the Creation Trio?

PMD is considered non-canon no?

@Lina I currently see one feat that results in Low 2-C in canon, what are the other ones?

How's this:

Attack Potency: At least Small Country level to Country level (clashed with Mewtwo in the Adventures manga), likely Universe level+ (constantly interfered with the lives of Dialga and Palkia)

Speed: At least MHS (collided with Mewtwo), likely infinite (Kept up with the timespace duo)

The rest is basically just this.

@SomebodyData

Therein lies the problem. Darkrai's only other major appearances in the anime involve fighting Cresselia (its equal, making it rather useless for scaling) and a domestic Darkrai of a trainer whose presence in the story was limited to keeping Ash from actually winning the Pokemon League by having a team of all Legendary Pokemon (which, once again, was never explained), being beaten by Sceptile in a fierce fight after knocking out Torkoal, Gible, and Heracross with ease. At the same time, this implies that there are multiple Darkrai, which further contradicts the game canon.

After that, there's just the Manga appearances above, PMD, and PokePark (which are all separate continuities).
