Calculations for some profiles I plan to make

I'm going out of town for a few days. When I return, I plan on making some profiles for one of my favourite animated series of all time. I have info and feats to justify the stats for most of the characters. But I need someone to answer the following two queries.


What kind of energy would you need to instantly:

1. Melt a skyscraper?

2. Atomize a skyscraper?

What series/episode does the Atomizing a skysraper thing happen in? I can probably try to do a basic calc of that.

SWAT Kats

In the Season 2 episode Dark Side of the SWAT Kats, some alternate reality counterparts of the main protagonists plan on atomizing Enforcer Headquarters which is a large skyscraper. But the bomb ends up stuck in their jet's bomb bay and it ends up atomizing them and their jet.
