Among Us Impostor additions

Yes the kill animation not happening for everyone is a game mechanic, but not the kill animation itself.

Yes it is. Because the gameplay is what we use. The Kill animation never actually happens for anyone else, because it's a game mechanic. Taking those away changes nothing about the game.

Ok, so why ISN'T it a game mechanic? It isn't something that is relevant or reflects what actually happens for everyone else. I've given my case for it.

Wouldn't it not just be like in RPGs where an enemy is slashed across the chest in the attack animation, but gets decapitated?

It's the exact same thing though. The kill animations happen, there's no reason to assume they don't. The sprites looking the way they do is just because there's only one sprites needed for a dead Crewmate.

Just as an example, Undertale characters can get slashed by a knife or hit with a frying pan, but the actual wound will be on another part of the body than the attack animation. It's not an uncommon trope in games for something like this to happen.

Ok, but we know that ACTUALLY HAPPENED. The animation would be irrelevant, because the end result shows us 1 thing. The end result of the kill animation is people being cut in half. That's it.

No it doesnt. Did you even check the How to Play section? If you look, the body wasnt ripped in half, its intact but with blood leaking from the head.

That just shows that it isnt the only method of how the kill the body, and all because one sprite is shown which denies all the others? Oh please, even the creators literally acknowledge the different animations yet the dead body remains the same, because its game mechanics that its always the same sprite. Its like youre saying in Mega Man, all cutting weapons which are stated to cut through things with ease kill enemies the same way as other attacks do it (they explode), yet there have been other times that an alternate death animation is shown because its game mechanics that they didnt add an alternate death animation to those enemies. Just stop repeating what you’re saying. All your statements about these kill animations are not even getting anywhere.

Wait, that issue was cleared up? I don't remember a CRT for that. I just know we used to use that for 9-C.

But then my other issue comes up. Do we just treat the gameplay walking around and such as non-canon then? If so, why are we using a vent calc from gameplay? Why treat one action as non-canon game mechanics and not another?
Also, this is why we rated it as “possibly”. The general explanation is that the impostor hides their true speed in order to blend in with the others so they dont get suspicious, which explains the distance traveled nigh-instantly when getting a kill. This was clarified during a discussion thread that was made before the forum move, but it wasn't saved.

For the laser thing, you need to prove it's vaporization for that calculation, the default assumption is pulverization which is way lower

Yeah there doesn't seem to be any visible vapor, although a part the crewmates body appears to be charred from the attack which would imply that the attack is heat based.

Second one is clearly game mechanics, commented on the first one

I don't see how this proves anything? The art obviously doesn't portray everything accurately, there's literally an impostor peaking out of the vent. If we're treating gameplay as canon, that's what we're shown, and that even makes sense considering we see the impostor become a blur. He's not gonna become a visual blur and yet somehow do these kill animations, they're game mechanics.

So again, why are we using gameplay at all in that case? If the gameplay you're using to support the impostor having a lot of speed is directly tied to cutting them in half, and that's game mechanics, then why are we using that at all?

So you admit then traveling nigh-instantly to get a kill is canon? Why aren't they moving in the kill animations, then? They're just standing still, and then they do something that isn't visually reflected in the gameplay we treat as canon. In fact, it directly contradicts it.

The little distance travel is more something linked to the mechanic than an actual ability yeah.

So why even mention it? If the Impostor's main way of killing that is shown to everyone is game mechanics, why was it even brought up?

WHY is that game mechanics?? If the gameplay is the canon we work with, why are we using kill animations that don't like up with it?

I don't remember any Subsonic+ calcs but i made a couple Subsonic calcs that got accepted.
