All Purpose Dragon Ball Thread

Referencing Part 2.1, wouldn’t Vegeta be comparing SSJ2 Gohan to the Gohan fighting Dabura, since he emphasizes that he was stronger when he beat Cell. Vegeta more-so saying SSJ2 Gohan (That Beat Cell) > SSJ (or SSJ2) Gohan (Vs Dabura).
When Gohan transforms for Kibito, Vegeta remarks that he is weaker than "when he beat Cell", but during his and Dabura's fight, Vegeta simply remarks that he was "stronger when he was a kid", which strongly suggests he is comparing the current SSJ Gohan to the SSJ Gohan from the Cell Games Saga.

Gotcha, that makes sense.

For what reason is Goku a "glass canon"?

For what reason is Goku a "glass canon"?

I’m guessing since the kamehameha can scale far above his physicals, meaning he can output attacks that could easily one-shot himself

I'd say it applies to every Low 2-C/2-C thing in the wiki that would be other 2-B, the distance argument always striked me a very arbitrary for no good reason.
If a macrocosm is 2C already and they can destroy it entirely
Wouldn't the distance already be taken into account for any multiplier?

Goku oneshotting SPC and Kid Buu who in both cases survive via regen shows how strong a charged kamehameha is.

to my knowledge Tier 2 has alot of unquantifiable jump in powers

The distance between 3 Space Time Continuum is unquantifiable just as the distance between 2 Space Time Continuum is also unquantifiable

We cannot however say that a 1.5 times multiplier can let you jump from 2 Space-Times to 3 Space-Times.

Its basically the same rule that was used for Low 2C and 2C back in the old times cuz no matter how much multipliers you stack you cannot get passed the unquantifiable gap that exists between the two tier

We just cannot really calculate it.

SSG Goku > Champa

(if it wasn't obvious) im doing a reread of DBS since I only started reading the manga after the anime ended, but I had no idea Champa and Vados were introduced so early in the manga.

SSG Goku > Champa
"If my brother strong, why he fat?"

Never forget.

Enraged SSJ2 Vegeta made Beerus use 10% of his power. Enraged Vegeta slams the ToP

Do we have any better justifications for BoG Base Vegeta scaling to BoG Base Goku? Saying "Comparable to Goku" isn't enough.

Also, is the RoF manga promotional for the movie canon to the DBS manga at all?

Nah the RoF movie is alongside anything the came out with the movie

@XXBenShapiroXx My main problem was/is and this was the case before I ever read/watched Dragonball ... they want Goku to show off dozen of techniques and want them to be perfect, while ignoring - contextually - what it means to be a great fighter in DBs setting.

It doesnt help that most DB fans are just as blind as them haters. You could show them a legit universal feat and it gets downplayed to star level. One of the things i realized when it read/watched DB for the first time.

Lets use that super delicious throw Goku used against Broly in the movie. According to them "internet gangster" its a basic throw and nothing special.

What Goku displayed here, if my memory serves right, was a standig seoi nage or maybe one of its many variations like Ippo, but at the end of the day its just the same throw, whats seperates them is the variations of entry and finish but having multipel names is a cool thing.

Context is what matters: Lets use a popular boxer. He might be one of the worst evers when it comes to skills and the only thing hes good at is that sweety money punch. So he basically has only 1 good weapon. Unlike most other boxing fans, hes - IHMO - the best puncher of the modern era since he gives up 40-70lbs and got the boxing skills of a twitch streamer - pretty much every single opponent was the superior boxer. I think most combat fans dont realize how hard he has to work for that 1 KO punch under such circumstances. That guy guy is unique as hell if you dont ignore context.

Anyway ...

For starters, most of the Judo throws are designed for clinching opponents and thats why - in no gi - seeing throws using arm control is a rare thing. Rule of the thumb for most Judokas, if someones tries to punch you, the best is to punch them back since getting an arm control under such situations and using their own momentum is very, very veeery hard.

Said throw was designed for bigger size. But theres size and THERES SIZE:

1. size
2. 50lbs size
3. 50lbs size and athlecism
4. 50lbs size, athlecism and fighter
5. Then theres Broly one of the scariest guys when it comes to physical size, weight and pure talent.

1. is doable. 2. is okaish if you got the right timing and abuse their own momentum. 3. You have to be incredible good at it. 4. Nigh impossible. Maybe a high level olympic Judoka could pull it of 1 out of 10 times.

What Goku did against Broly in a nutshell, Goku slips to the side and uses its momentum at exactly the right time for a beautiful throw and shows once again that Goku is indeed a martial art genius and whoever thinks he would lose to "real world guys" is delusional as hell.

Fictional guys are so much more talented. The fact alone they dont destroy the universe while fighting at MFTL+ speed which just speaks volumes of body control and a strong mind, puts every single one so far a head it aint funny. Even if some things wouldnt work here for whatever reasons, they would immediately adapt and spank your ass in 1 second.

TL;DR

Goku H2H fans cant win against internet stupidy. "Everyone acts like a martial art ganstga until Goku throws that perfect straight right into your face" - Mike "Jinsama" Tyson, Vswiki member.

I think its just a limitation on the Team's creativity to show more Choreography in fights.

Dragon Ball Z has too much fast paced action that it devolves to kicking and punching but it doesn't change the level of Skill Goku previously showed.

The Broly Movie is the few time they went all out to showcase more traditional martial arts instead of a onslaught of repetitive punches

There are plenty of cool things that dont rely on KI-control at all, its just them weirdos want them to be perfectly displayed or dont realize that the sweet science of fighting encompass much more than that.

Even before I saw/read Dragonball, many of their takes were weird as hell.

A lot of people should sit down and analyze the frame by frame I actually respect Phangito on YouTube who will delve into the fighting iq and skill of each shot it definitely destroys the no skill allegations

What? Jin since when were you. Saint Seiya fan?!!!!

I do sometimes watch Totally not Mark doing breakdowns on the Manga Panel and Choreographies but never did so for the anime. Might check it out later.

But I do recall some moments like Hit vs Goku (R2) with Goku using feints, Goku vs Nappa / Goku vs Jeice and Burter showcasing his reflex and dodge and so on.

There is alot more I could list like Goku vs Frieza (Namek) involving Goku tricking the later with decoy energy spheres while underwater and the likes but generally it gets overshadowed by other elements during the Fights from what I feel.

The Naruto Verse stomping Z is a sight I never expected to see to this day. He is like mini yhwach wtf

99% of his haxes aren't affecting or putting down buuhan tbh, the main issue is the reflection which (until further notice of his own limitations) needs him touching someone, though I have little doubt that he would not have the same limitations when shown eventually

Ofcourse this is all with speed equalized, without that, he doesn't even get to think, especially since he doesn't have 4D HDE accepted right now
