Well, now that I finished the Thing's revision, time to spam the crap outta it.

Pinky has cornered the Thing in an abondoned depatment store, and belives it to be a villian with a Body Control quirk. She does not know exactly where it is, but knows it's near by and it's "quirk" is activated by touch. The Thing has only assimilated a single quirkless civilian.

Speed UnEqualized (for now), Win via any means possible, SBA for whatever's left.

Mina Ashido

John Carpenter's The Thing

Thing likely takes this. It ignores dura and Mina would have to kill all of its cells with her acid; which is honestly pretty unlikely. It's possible, which is why this isn't desisive, but the only thing the Thing has to do is to close range, take whatever damage it takes from her acid, before latching on and assimalating into her, gaining new acid powers in the process.

''"The only Thing the Thing has going for it is it's Thing with assimilating Things."'' I love and hate that shit. I wish the Thing had a better name.

The fact that she has no knowledge about the Things assimilation powers give the Thing a little advantage and if it can somehow breach the distance its over. But I dont see that happen, since Mina has superior speed and her acid can melt walls. She has good chances of surving a first encounter and perhabs even reduce the Thing to the size of an ant or less. I agree with Dargoo, its unlikely that she can completly kill it. The Thing can assimilate her via a sneak attack later or absorb other citizens and go after her later.

Thing wins via mine and reasons above.

Given that the Thing nearly died in its first encounter against faaaar less skilled people with flamethrowers, Mina's mastery over her powers and the Thing not being a fighter at all should give her the win. She doesn't need to know much about it, or at least its assimilation powers. She just needs to destroy it and given that it was nearly destroyed by normal humans, that's quite possible.

Of course, this is assuming SBA prevents it from playing the long game like in the movie.

Nope. No long game here.
So basically she has some knowledge of The Thing already under OP's settings.

In an 1-on-1 situation Mina should win for the above stated reasons.

"Nearly destroyed by regular humans" isn't the best argument, tbh. To be entirely honest they didn't stand much of a chance in the first place, they were mostly incredibly lucky and heavily abused weakneses and had a huge environmental advantage (barely anything for it to possess), and the Thing was still able to work past its weaknesses and get them.

We have to take into account it's stealth capabilities and, of course, regen. I highly doubt Mina is going to be able to melt all of it before it closes distance and touches her once; although he might be pressed to produce more acid than usual, she would have to practically flood wherever the Thing, assuming it doesn't make any moves to escape. And I don't really see that as her first move even if she's spooked.

A single piece of tissue or a cell escaping is enough for it to survive, find another host, and then get more than enough prep to take down Mina.

So, sure, Mina ca take it down. It's just that it's highly unlikely that she kills every single cell. It's more likely that slips up, and the Thing comes back and kills her, or she just can't put it down before it touches her once. Heck this happened and it still managed to get out.

Pretty sure that its official name is actually "The Alien Creature"

alien queen due to acid powers and the thing probably not being able to assimilate a being whose blood is acid.

The majority of the votes for the Thing seem more reasonable imo. John Carpenter alien FRA.

The Thing really just has more likely ways to win this. All the arguments have already been presented, and I'm voting the Thing

I remember debunking this somewhere...
Well, Mina also doesn't have acid blood, she can just ooze acid from her pores.

Also, Yo Crimson! How ya doing bro?

Mina - 3

Thing - 6
