I guess, I see it as turning into a dragon but not being able to use the wings but that is my thoughts do I keep fire claws or just the fiery transformation sequence.

I mean, the wings are part of the dragon's body. The visual section and the actual body are directly connected. It doesn't seem to be that way for the cat thing. But then again, you have some level of fire manip, so the other things should be possible.
