So, when the CT got avatar creation (if they ever did), it was agreed that this isn't combat applicable and that they only have one avatar at a time with Arceus having to fashion their bodies to come back (with the exception of Giratina).
I'm here to disprove that claim.
For one, it's never stated that Arceus does that for them. But that's the least important bits. Moving on.
It's generally agreed that their respective dimensions are their true forms. However, in Platinum, their dimensions remain in existence if they're captured, showing that the true state and and if they're defeated, the dimension still remains, and they can be rechallenged later, meaning they just created a new body in the meantime (and before someone says the obvious, no this doesn't become illegitimate because it would mean Lucas/Dawn defeated a 2-B. Just because something is an outlier doesn't mean it didn't happen).
But the most blatant bit of evidence comes from Ultra Sun/Moon. The thing is, in the multiverse, you canonically encounter two different Palkiass/Dialgas. There's the one Cyrus owns and the one roaming around Ultra Space. Meaning that yes, there are multiple avatars for the true being.
