A dragon fights a monkey - Tohru vs Jin Mo-Ri

1: ok. That has nothing to do with what i was saying at all but ok

2: so you're taking the high-ball now? I thought you said hundreds of meters before?

3: the guy who draws GoH isn't exactly great with perspective and sizes (see: that moment when he draws Jupiter only being like 5x larger than earth)

The entire point of me showing you that is that it was very casual, and practically instant from the perspective of someone who was at least somewhat comparable to him

1. Well then yeah idk what you were trying to say at all. No matter how you look at it Jin loses in the stamina department.

2. I said hundreds of meters to several kilometers before, actually. That scan doesn't even look like hundreds of meters, really.

3. So how exactly are we supposed to assume that he meant that distance to be and/or look like hundreds of meters? If he's bad at drawing perspectives that's whatever, but there's nothing to imply in the scans that the distance they are in the air is actually supposed to be higher than it looks.

Even if it was actual teleportation it doesn't seem like he can teleport as high as he'd need to in order to touch her. Not to mention she also has teleportation.

1: that the time it takes to out-last Jin is way more than enough for him to just get tired of this tomfoolery and boost to hell and back

2: still doesn't explain why you're acting like only the highball exists. Iirc there was a calc for it somewhere, if not i can see if i can get someone to calc it

3: you're the one acting like the ground is only like 30 feet below them. Aside from the, y'know, mountains in the distance

i honestly don't understnad what you mean by this

This seems like a lot of arguments. Could anyone sum up the arguments for both sides?

1. Him boosting to hell and back doesn't change the fact that he can't touch her due to range. Hey I'll repeat myself as many times as you force me to

2. I'm not acting like only the high ball exists. I'm saying whether it's the low ball or the high ball he still is outranged. Idk why you're only acting like the low ball exists.

3. Well honestly it looks like they're maybe a couple hundred meters up at most which isn't going to cut it.

What I mean by this is it doesn't matter if it's pseudo-teleportation or actual teleportation, if he can't teleport anywhere near her, it doesn't help him.

1: I'm pretty certain that Jin has been shown to get a lot more range once he boosts, but i'll have to look for that

2: Well you went from saying both the highball and lowball to only using to highball as a standard, but maybe i'm just being anal.

3: Refer to 1

Bo-Bup is never really elaborated on afaik, and is closer to fancy footwork than actual teleportation. Footwork that provides a sizeable boost to speed, mind you

Those voting for Jin are doing so based on the fact that he's more skilled and can boost himself.

I'm voting for Tohru because she can heal any damage she'd take in CQC assuming she'd even go for that first, then she can range spam until he runs out of stamina since hers is nigh-infinite vs his extremely high and her range is hundreds of meters to several kilometers vs his dozens of meters

yeah that arguement for Tohru is ignoring or forgetting several things tbh

not least of which is the fact that Jin is more than capable of just kicking at the projectiles, dispersing them

DragonEmperor is right, that's what I was trying to imply be done.

Sorry, I definitely jumped the gun there.

I don't doubt that he can disperse her attacks, but it's just going to be a matter of her staying up in the air where he can't reach her and spamming her ranged attacks until he eventually runs out of stamina.

Point 1: Schmuck confirmed over discord that Tohru doesn't actually immediately back up and spam range. What she actually does, most of the time apparently, is stand there and shoot a big ass fireball at the person she's fighting.

this is a bad idea for reasons that i really don't need to elaborate on, as even though Jin won't be able to completely nullify the attack, simply attacking to attempt so reverses the AP situation and leaves Tohru well within range of a boosted and likely rather angry Jin who is more than happy to attack again and again.

Point 2: Even if Tohru flies away the moment she launches the fireball, Bo-Bup should allow him to at least mostly catch up. For those who don't know, Bo-Bup is a movement technique taht basically lets the user move in whatever direction they want to and extremely quickly at that, to the point that Sang Man-Duk thought that Hui Mo-Ri, a significantly slower, weaker and less skilled clone of Jin at this stage, teleported along with him rather than actually moving. This is notable due to the fact that they were portrayed as mostly equal, although with Hui a bit better in terms of sheer stats.

Point 3: Jin's various stat boosts make Tohru flying to her usual range, which is a few hundred meters to kilometers according to Schmuck, not work very well for her, as Jin's range has been consistently shown to increase whenever he boosts his power (you may also note that this happens basically whenever Jin attacks at all). Even without the Renewal Tae Kwon Do boost, Jin still has acupuncture to drastically boost his overall stats on top Bo-Bup putting him at least halfway to Tohru, if not right onto her.

EDIT: see here for the discord thing

1. That thing on discord wasn't to say that she always start with the "fireball." They start 4 km away after all, so if she launches a "fireball"-- which is actually a continuous beam, not just a ball-- and he manages to counter it, she's still got plenty of time to get in the air. And even if he somehow catches up to her before she gets well out of his range, she can survive some blows from him easily considering her level of regen and how quickly it works. She's more than skilled enough as well that even if he manages to get within CGC range, she'll be able to get out of it. Again, this is all assuming he can manage to get close enough to her at the beginning, which I don't believe he can.

2. Once she's in the air it doesn't matter how far or if he can teleport because he has no way of reaching her since he hasn't demonstrated the ability to teleport that high from what you've shown me.

3. No, I'm sorry, but nothing you've provided so far suggests he'll be able to close that range gap. With that big of a difference in range teleporting to her is going to be impossible for him. Tohru herself can also teleport so there's that.

So, to reiterate, if Tohru begins the match by flying in the air she simply stays out of his range and spams him until he eventually runs out of stamina. Even though his stamina is undoubtedly high, it's not limitless like hers essentially is. If Tohru begins by going in close, which is fairly OoC, she takes likely several hits which she heals from before the flying, teleporting, etc out of range and wearing him down while he is hopeless to reach her.

I feel like you only read the last 2 words of that

At most they should be 2 away, and even ay that range Jin would easily dodhe the fire attack

as far away from each other as the highest range of the fighters is, but a maximum of 4 kilometers

"Several" generally means a fair bit more than 2.

Hl3 or bust said:
that just further proves my point
How exactly?

The highest range between the two fighters is Tohru's several kilometers. So they would be several kilometers away, but since the max is 4, they'd start at 4.

As much as I like Jin, I think Tohru has got this. This version of Jin doesn't really have the capabilities to deal with an opponent who is far away in the sky (to what i know of, but i am still kind of new to vs battles so go easy on me pls). Unless some more information appears ill go with Tohru.

How many votes do we have for Tohru again? I lost count.

There's myself, Sirjayko, Apies voted for reasons which Monarch seemed to disagree with, and Monarch said he thinks Tohru wins but didn't give any reasons from what I can tell.

So probably 2 for Tohru

Huh, I thought there'd be more than just 2 by now. I'll try to get more peeps to vote.

uhhh, if we count the ones from 6 days ago. Schmuck ,Me,Lazors, monarch(?) for Tohru. (Stated) while jin doesn't have anyone who's specifically stated but i think Hl3 or bust is going for jin on this one (feel free to correct me on any of this)

I can see Mori winning by dropping the yeoui on Tohru or having her hold it, he's done this with beelzebub, Uriel and a Giant crab in another dimension so it wouldn't be out of character.
